Please help me cover this mess of a chin

I have three cystic spots on my chin. All grouped together, angry, massive and throbbing away.

It looks hideous. The skin around them is so inflamed and sore looking. They stand out a mile.

I am working the night shift tonight and I feel so horrible and embarrassed about my chin. I know it shouldn't matter but I seriously don't want to be seen. I am no stranger to cystic spots and I'm under the derm but I've never had as many in one area like this.

Any ideas on how to cover it without making it look worse and flakey? What about some kind of dressing and pretending I've got an infection or something?

Have you iced them? That has helped mine today.

I currently have a blister plaster on as well but it's not going to do much in a short space of time.

I think I might just leave it on. Either way I'm going to draw attention to my chin simply by existing. They really are angry red, massive yellow heads but not pop ready, dry skin around them and just huge.

I will ice them when I take the plaster off.

There are loads of tutorials on you tube about covering acne. Some of them are amazing.

Would an antihistamine like Piriton take some of the redness or swelling down? Sorry I've no experience but just wondering as I get a lot of eczema and skin allergy problems and it helps with those.

Sending sympathy, I too suffer with my skin and know how horrid it is to feel like you can't face the world.

Put some tea tree oil or similar antiseptic underneath any moisturiser/makeup so that it will work during your night shift. Plenty of moisturiser and a primer to help makeup stay on, making sure you let the moisturiser dry. Then a thin layer of foundation, concealer to spots then another thin layer of foundation applied with a buffing brush and really blended well. Leave for 5 mins then set with powder.

It's really hard but try not to touch your face when the makeup is on, then cleanse really well (oil based cleanser then hot cloth) when you get home.

One is bad enough, but three huge ones in one area is just not on!

I was considering keeping the blister plaster on for work but then it just looks like I'm trying to cover up spots.

I will take some nurofen, ice it and try to cover with make up. I usually do a very bad job but the video is great.

I can really recommend the Mario Badescu buffering lotion & drying lotion. Not sexy in bed but does seem to reduce them overnight

I find Lisa Eldridge's pinpoint brush technique really helpful with my newly acquired rosacea. She also has a tutorial on covering rosacea which might be helpful to you.

Plus if you get a bluster plaster like compeed and cut it into tiny pieces and put them on overnight this really helps suck out the yuck.
