Need help (along time since ive been on a night out)

My Mum passed away in November so havnt been out with hubby for about a year as she was poorly for a long time.
Ive decided i need to try and get my life back on track. Ive said to hubby i want to go to some cocktail bars in Manchester or Liverpool, so was thinking black skinny trousers and some brown boots i have bought, but im stuck in the colour or type of top to wear. Was thinking a dressy bardot top? What do you all think ☺

I like the shoes but not sure of them with black trousers. Because of the colour difference, it will create a visible line and make your legs look quite stumpy.

If you don't mind your legs, I'd go a dress (if you're fairly tall, a midi length would look nice with those boots) or a shorter one with nude tights. Gives less of a contrast.

I quite like this at the moment and think it will go well with the boots.

I'd also wear those boots with blue jeans and wear black boots with the black jeans, they are quite a bright brown. Tops lovely though.

You defiantly need a blue jean or dark indigo for those boots, or like life said wear a dress and nude/bare legs. The top is ok, there is nothing wrong with it but I'm not blown away.

I'm going to go against the grain and say wear them with black skinnies. But how tall are you? This may make all the difference.

My go to shop for dresses is Oasis, I love it. I would post some pics but used my limit....god knows on what though!

Yeah you could do it. I'd also go for cream top

If I had those boots I'd wear a chunky cream cable knit slouchy cardigan over a patterned t shirt or something. Then a dusty pink lipstick to bring it all together.
