TOO OLD

Neck envy Envy

Mine is making me sad at the moment. I may as well get used to it, because it's not going to improve.

I do at 43.

I have a neck like Ray Winstone so I can't. Not even as a 90s teen when velvet chokers with a heart pendant were de rigueur.

But your neck is lovely so you can! I don't see why it's an age thing, it's not as though we're talking hot pants and a crop top here.

Ankleswingers · 14/01/2017 21:52

You have a lovely neck and will wear a choker well.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 14/01/2017 22:01

Erm I'm sure I read recently that the youth of today wear them as a sign they like giving blow jobs....

SapphireSeptember · 14/01/2017 23:17

I've just bought two massive blingy ones, I'm 28 and remember them being trendy about 10 years ago, because I got loads of ones that were cross pendants on velvet ribbon. (Pictures! The fancy one had a matching bracelet, so I couldn't resist... The straight one is bigger than it looks.) I never really stopped wearing them though. You'll look lovely. Smile

Well as chokers have been around since before the Pyramids, I have no idea why young people should have exclusive rights.

That said, I don't think I have ever seen anyone in real life looking good in them.

Bettyspants · 14/01/2017 23:26

Oh I loved my velvet choker...

OhWellNeverMindEh · 15/01/2017 08:55

Thanks for all the responses. I wore the choker, DH really liked it and he's pretty blunt honest.

That said, I won't be wearing it again, I couldn't talk or eat without it feeling very tight.

I like those ones which are velvet and do up at the front underneath the actual chokery-bit. Will attach a pic because that's a crap explanation. You have great neck, op. I have a fat neck so couldn't pull one off but they look lovely on a good neck.

Wore one to my parents vow renewals and party last month. Burgundy velvet. I'm 41, remember the trend first time round and have a DD who was also rocking it (or looking on point as she would say).Grin

Love the gold one the lady is wearing in the photo, where could I find one likes that?

And of course you aren't too old, lovely neck OP.

Pestilence13610 · 15/01/2017 12:54

I usually wear a more colette length or a choker at the bottom of the neck. The half way up ones are a bit of a strangler if they are not stretchy and a bit 1990s if they are.

I'm 42 and I wear them . My neck is fine and I look younger than I am ( constantly being told --- preen ) .. wear what you want !!
