DOes anyone know how next do gift cards returns?

I took something back which was a gift and was told I could only have credit. They gave me a receipt which has the details of the return and new credit balance, but that was all. Does anyone know if this receipt serves as my credit note or did they forget to give me a gift card etc?

Stumped. What shop was it?

That sounds like a credit note - does it have a barcode on it? You presumably just use that to pay when you use it - can you post a photo?

That's certainly how M&S do credit notes, so Next may well be the same. It's a PITA because those slips are so say to lose or chuck out.

I'm a manager at Next and you should also have been given a credit card sized plastic gift card. If you've not got this go back into store with your receipt (on a weekday) and they can ring up and have it cancelled. A new one would have to be sent out to your home address and takes about 2 weeks. Unless the member of staff realised and had given to a manager.

Thanks all. I'll go into store and hopefully sort it out. I definitely wasn't given anything other than this til receipt which has the credit amount on it.
