High rise slim jeans

happyandhealthy2017 · 11/01/2017 06:30

I'm on the lookout for some high rise slim fit jeans that aren't too expensive. I had a baby 4 weeks ago and my maternity clothes are massive, my pre pregnancy clothes are still a little on the too small size so would like something just to keep me going. I figured high rise slim fit are going to be the most flattering, but I don't want to spend too much. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Probably should add that I'm a size 16!

Following - my requirements are the same!!! Sorry I can't be of any help...

I despise high-rise jeans. They cut you in two when you sit down, unless you have a flat tummy. Mid-rise is much, much better.

Tartle · 11/01/2017 07:02

I don't know. I have short arse legs so they hide my tummy and make me look more proportionate.

I bought a really nice Lee pair from John Lewis in the sale for £25 last week but I think they are sold out now I'm afraid.

I despise mid rise and low rise jeans because I am pear shaped and they cut me in two when I sit down. My waist is 12" smaller than my hips so high rise are much more comfortable for me. I hate having to hitch my jeans up all the time as well, which is what happens with lower rise jeans.

These are the best jeans ever, and I've always struggled to find jeans! They are a little stretchy (not like jeggings though so still support iynwim), comfy, don't cut you in two and really flattering. Have had them in sizes 16, 14 and 12 over the past year (finally losing weight yay!) and have been perfect for me at every size :)

Always worth checking Sainsburys.

Their jeans are very good, they usually have a range of styles and they are definitely cheap enough to count as transitional clothes.

Try M&S, I bought a pair of basic ozone jeans for about £20 after trying dozens of pairs from every store going.

They're higher on the waist, straight legged and keep their shape.

They may not be the 'coolest' shape, but they actually fit this 5ft 11 pear with thighs that don't play nicely with skinny jeans!

MrsWOLF1 · 11/01/2017 07:12

Next 4way stretch are a good fit .I'm 5ft 9" and a size 16

My problem with M and S jeans is that they tend to shrink - in length as well as fit.

Newbrummie · 11/01/2017 07:23

The next ones are really good imo

TheCakes · 11/01/2017 07:39

I like New Look for cheap, cheerful and flattering. They don't last the longest but they are good when you are losing weight.

TheMortificadosDragon · 11/01/2017 07:46

I've never had a problem with m&s jeans. Not tried them yet, but last time I was passing through one I noticed they have 'relaxed slim fit' at the moment - they're described as midrise but the photo doesn't look too low, so might be worth trying.

chloechloe · 11/01/2017 07:49

Top shop Leigh jeans might fit the bill. They're not proper jeans material, more a thin stretchy denim but I find that much more flattering and comfy anyway.

namechange20050 · 11/01/2017 07:51

Look at M&S sculpt and lift jeans. They do a high waist one that is great for sucking in post baby-ness!

Clankboing · 11/01/2017 08:08

Asda have a good selection of jeggings that are high rise. I loved them so much that I went back and bought a second pair. V comfy. This won't sound attractive but they are: they have a thick band of black elastic at the top. They are in a variety of colours. They pull on and off very easily. Very elastic. They look good on and don't look like jeggings, more like jeans. (Sainsburys are quite good too but Asda are best).

I live in high rise slim jeans. Mainly Levis which are only cheap if found on ebay, but Marks and Spencer do loads of good high rise stuff.

I'll never wear low rise again in my life. Can't believe we all spent the noughties jumping up and down, endlessly trying to pull our jeans up.

I completely agree. Despite being a 16, I've still got a waist so high rise fit me best.

Thank you for all the suggestions, definitely going to have a browse around online. M&S seems to get lots of votes here.

The best I have came from tesco - Florence & Fred

WheresTheCoffee · 11/01/2017 09:27

Another fan here of the M&S skinnies!

poppym12 · 11/01/2017 10:48

If you don't want to spend too much as you may not be wearing them for long, I recommend asos (own branded) jeans. Farleigh are straight slim leg with quite a high rise. There are quite a few in the sale at the moment.

StealingYourWiFi · 11/01/2017 10:49

The ASDA Wonderfit are bloody AMAZING!!

Ellapaella · 11/01/2017 12:55

La Recoute do a very good quality high rise jean.
