I'm applying for jobs. Haven't worked in years so who knows if I am even going to get interviews.

But, if I do, I have nothing to wear. I don't even own trousers, only jeans, leggings and dresses, mainly tea dresses and tunic/jumper dresses.

I've been having a look online (and feel so out of practice I'm not even sure where to look) and I saw this dress and/or this jacket.

Is this ok or am I hideously out of touch? Is it better to play it safe with blafk trousers and a black jacket and some sort of top? Does it need to be a shirt?

"The dress looks nice, maybe for a secretarial role..."

That is a rather condescending thing to say, is it not!?

Given I have no recent experience as I have I have been out of work for several years due to ill health, basic admin jobs are the only thing I can go for. And then I'm not holding my breath for an interview as I'm still not 100% well and people will be applying with actual recent experience and good health. High corporate companies will not be on my list at all.

So far I've applied for admin at the university, a Will writing firm and as a Court Usher. Basically it will only be basic admin stuff until I can get some more experience. High powered, expensive suits/work wear are not going to be necesary.
