Nice neutral nude nail polish

YouSpinmeRound · 07/01/2017 12:25

I'm struggling to find a good nude nail polish. I want my nails to look like I look after them but not a bright or obvious colour. I've just put on a Mavala Duchess Rose but it is too pinky and clashes with my hands (If that is even possible!) i need a nude colour with more of a grey/beige undertone rather than pink/peach. I also find Nails Inc South Moulton street also looks quite a bright pink on me against my skin tone.

Any suggestions?

Nails Inc - Porchester Square

AndShesGone · 07/01/2017 13:15

Chanel Ballerina. Everything else is too pink on me.

Cheesymonster · 07/01/2017 14:19

Essie Ballet Slippers or Madamoiselle.

Artyfarty555 · 07/01/2017 14:24

Do these dry quickly..I'm so impatient and always ruin mine...struggle not to move for a minute or two. I've been using a gel one, with a base coat and that's great if l stay still but need a quick drying one...that is plain and neutral like a nail colour. I did get a cheap spay from primark that's supposed to help!

Rimmel soul session

hecallsmebunny · 07/01/2017 16:54

Oh and Sally Hansen insta-dri top coat is amazing!

WowOoo · 07/01/2017 16:56

I love Maybelline Colourshow in Latte. Under £3 and last better than Essie and other brands.

It looks like this:

Sally Hansen 'Shell we dance', love it and always get compliments on it. 2 coats followed by a Seche Vite top coat, lasts 4 days and I am very rough on my nails.

Freshlysqueezed · 07/01/2017 17:04

I think Nails Inc Starkers looks fab and don't find it too pink which I also dislike

Freshlysqueezed · 07/01/2017 17:05

Sorry it's not Nails Inc but Leighton Denny who do Starkers

YouSpinmeRound · 07/01/2017 17:16

Thanks for the ideas here. Glad it's not just me who finds some neutrals too pink.

Re quick drying and top coat I swear by Seche Vite and can get a week out of my nail colours especially if pale.

Oh hadn't heard of seche vite. Thanks!

TheBitterBoy · 07/01/2017 17:23

Seconding Chanel ballerina

jinglytinglypasta · 07/01/2017 18:18

I always get compliments when I wear Leighton Denny Supermodel. It has no pink.

Artyfarty555 · 07/01/2017 19:31

Thank you, it's the Sally Hansen gel ones l have and like,so will get the shell we dance and seche vite..even though I said no more beauty buys!!

Artyfarty555 · 07/01/2017 19:32

That maybelline Latte one is nice too!

TGG303 · 17/01/2017 19:07

@youspinmeround If you're after a your nails but better look, try Zoya's naked manicure, its a base coat then a coloured tint to correct your nail colour to what you would like? i.e. if you have stained nail beds like me I'd use their lavender tint to take away the yellow tone then finish with their satin top coat which isnt glossy or matte but in-between think what your own nails look like. Now if you've never heard of the brand Zoya before, they are an American brand available from nailpolishdirect.co.uk, they also do normal nail polish which is gorgeous and they are known for their nudes and neutrals. One thing to note, they are expensive BUT they do not contain toluene, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP (dibutyl phthalate) and triphenyl phosphate (also known as TPHP)

Laiste · 17/01/2017 19:11

I second Leighton Denny Supermodel. (It's so pinkless than in fact it doesn't suit me as i need a bit of pink with my skin tone).

Another vote for Chanel Ballerina: it's subtle, quite sheer, and makes nails look "clean".

MrDacresEUSubsidy · 18/01/2017 21:18

I like Rimmel's Caramel Cupcake as a neutral - it's a browny-grey base rather than pink.

YouSpinmeRound · 21/01/2017 21:19

Thanks TGG but the naked manicure isn't the look im after. Atm my fav suggestion from this thread is nails inc porcester sq

Leighton Denny "Sugar and Spice", which is slightly iridescent.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 21/01/2017 21:40

Avon's "Barely There", which is too brown for me but looks great on others.

girlelephant · 21/01/2017 22:14

Leighton Denny & Nails Inc are both great for nude colours

hollinhurst84 · 21/01/2017 22:26
