So bored of the same old hair. Suggestion please??

I currently have long hair to just below my bra strap.
It has a few layers through it an is very thick. It has to be straightened daily to make it less frizzy.
It naturally falls into a side parting and won't go into a fringe.
It has been like this for years and it has been about 9 months since it was last cut so the ends are awful.
I am so fed up with it!

I am booked for it cutting next week and have no idea what to do with it. I need to be able to tie it back and find that the shorter is is the more frizzy it looks.

Can anyone suggest a style that might work? Pics would be great if poss.

I wondered about something like that but was worried about it looking 'wedgy' because of my hairs thickness.
Does this style take much upkeep? Could I still shove it into a ponytail?

You could definitely shove that hair that caraaspen suggested into a ponytail. I think it'd look great. Also, you have lovely hair!

Think the upkeep would be easy. And yes, a pony tail would still be possible!
