skin getting 'used' to moisturiser?

I've been an erratic user of moisturiser over the years. However I was in the sun far too much last summer and even with sun screen my skin became quite damaged. I've been religiously using moisturiser twice a day every day - in the morning after washing and in the evening after a bath. I've noticed that my skin seems particularly dry and thirsty after my bath each evening. Is this because it has adapted to the moisturiser? Or something else?

It could be that you need a richer moisturiser in the winter. Cold weather and central heating dries skin out.

As does having a steamy hot bath, water on the skin can dry it out, hence moisturizing after a shower or bath.

Is it your facial skin? You could also try cleaning with a facial oil.

Ah thank you all. I use Clinique. Will go see the sales lady and see if I need something a bit richer.
