help with greasy hair

Ive always had greasy hair, however the last 6 months or so its much worse.
Ive tried using no conditioner, conditioner then shampooing after and its still greasy toward the end of the day.
I dont like using dry shampoo as it has thinned my hair previously.
Any suggestions would be most welcome

My hair dried out massively when I went on Roaccutane the acne drug. And it has stayed dryer.

That might be a bit drastic tho!

My best advice is to put shampoo on your hair when it's dry. Then rinse with water and only condition the very ends. This really does work. I do it every other wash. I still wash my hair every 2-3 days but i used to have to wash it every day.

I find this work so with whatever shampoo I'm using. A also switch shampoos every time I buy one. I tend to swap between 5 brands. I think your hair gets used to the same product so switching helps boost it.

I have greasy hair and have washed it everyday for last 20 years or so. Its recently got a bit better as I have had some highlights put in my fringe and thats dried it out a bit. I also use the elvive clay shampoo which means It doesnt look too bad on the morning of the second day (alhough I dont get anywhere near the 72 hours they claim on the bottle!)

The Phillip Kingsley one more day dry shampoo is also good. Its pricy but I just use a bit on the fringe and it last ages.

Plus if I know I need my hair to stay nice, I sometimes dry shampoo it before it gets greasy and this keeps it fresher for longer. Although I try not to use it too often as Im sure its giving me a bit of dandruff. Not sure I want to swop greasy hair for dandruff Grin

Second the use of cornstarch talc - burts bees or femfresh Grin it lifts the roots and makes it far more easy to style, just a little bit though.

I've been using dermalogica daily rinse shampoo and conditioner, great stuff but it is ££'s

The shampoo doesn't foam so much and the container is not as silky as shop bought.

If I brush it thouroughly first and then wash it straight it seems to help.

I only wash the roots and contion the ends, seems to have really helped and I've managed to eek it out to 3 days between washes.

I have very thin/fine hair which used to get greasy by the end of the night which meant I had to wash it and started the cycle all over again. My hairdresser mentioning training my hair by not washing it everyday and leaving it greasy! But I did it and managed to train my hair to the point where I was washing it once a week! And I never tie my hair up and need it down all the time but somehow I managed it. Thought I'd cracked it then I moved town and my hair was greasy straight after washing. Turned out the soft water in the area was affecting my already thin hair! Went in to lush and was recommended either their seaweed bar or the BIG shampoo and ong they work a treat! They literally seem to wash all that grease straight out of my hair and costing under £5! I have researched the hell out of this and although still prone to hair needing the odd dry shampoo I'm back to my once a week (sometimes even 8 days!) washing routine.

Pantene clarifying shampoo is good at getting squeaky clean hair.
