Can this dress be taken up without wrecking it?

I've ordered this dress for a formal work dinner dance. It's beautiful but too long! Even though I'm 5'7" it's dragging along the floor.

Could it be adjusted by a seamstress? I've no clue about that sort of thing and wouldn't want to risk it being ruined. I could just return it and look for something else but it's beautiful.

It is beautiful. Yes it can be taken up but go somewhere good and take the shoes along that you will be wearing.

I would say it would be a straightforward job. You would need the shoes you intend wearing to get the length right.
