Whereabouts CV? What would you recommend?

So MI, are they better than the old ones then?

motherinferior · 16/01/2017 22:36

Better in not being ragged. And they may look less horrid when not so new. We definitely need to more the chairs.

herbaceous · 16/01/2017 22:39

The curtains are inoffensive, but do have shades of Brexit.

My shoes were admired by a she vicar at choir.

Re mum and tax, she has to fill in returns for her and dad as they've got various pensions, min vest, enter that yield interest and some property that pays them an income. She has asked if sis and I can take over the latter, so we are indeed moving towards POA.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 16/01/2017 22:47

I'm very pleased your lady rummage was ok, Molly. I had my my first boob splurge last week and had the letter today saying they are all ok, which is good as I quite like them!

Cremolafoam · 16/01/2017 23:25

Cv for you the Île de Ré ici
GGG for you the fragrant charms of Jerez de la Frontera

I have a boob spluge booked in a couple of weeks time. My first one. Please say it doesn't hurt.

Herbs we should do a metallic footwear convention. I too have a bit of a thing about them. Have spent all winter sporting metallic boots from dear TKMaxx. Spotted them in September, and bought them for about £40. I get remarks all the time. They made me smile - and still do!

Need new bras, so ordered £150 worth of them from M&S. Popped into local store to pick them up and try them on in their changing rooms. They were all crap. Odd sizes. Odd shapes. I was exhausted by the end.

Busty teenager who served me recommended BraStop. Anyone used them? Alternatively, I need to take out second mortgage and head for Rigby and Peller.

I do wish Bravissimo hadn't stopped doing my favourite bra. Their suggested replacement is no good.

Reasons to be cheerful

  1. Walked dogs and saw pretty droplets on tree. Wished I'd had my camera.
  2. Had legal meeting and discovered we owe lot less to taxman than previously thought.
  3. Nice friend has bought back Melatonin from Her travels. I may now get the odd good nights sleep.

Reasons NOT to be cheerful.
Entered kitchens this morning and skidded (in socks) over elderly DDogs wee. Not a good start to the day at 0630. Must look more closely at floor before proceeding.

Blackduck · 17/01/2017 06:04

Portugal or Italy GGG?

Cocoa/cloud - I have a pair of silver hi tops by diesel (via TKMaxx) which I adore. They came with a label which said 'who need personality when you have shoe' - quite apt I thought! If a little rude.

I am having a panic about the sudden huge quantity of work I have on. Not only coming up with editorial ideas, writing, commissioning and organising for this mag I met about yesterday, but possibly another 40 PAGE one that also has to be finished by mid February. This was sprung on me yesterday evening. In the interim I've also got mil funeral on Friday, which also will take out Thursday and Saturdays and numerous other commitments. I shall Plough On and think if the money. Might even treat myself to a pair of varifocals.

MrsWobble3 · 17/01/2017 07:43

Jealous of the trip to Prague. I have v fond memories of the place as it was the first trip dh and I took alone post children - I organised it as a surprise for his birthday, got the nanny to stay for the weekend, got his secretary to book an all day meeting for his birthday and gave him the tickets at breakfast. It was a fab weekend.

And my experience of mammograms is that they are (quite) uncomfortable rather than actually painful. You may find it better than I do though as the nurse told me that the better your bosom the less uncomfortable it would be and as an A cup I am in no need of even considering a R&P mortgage.

Not had the squishy boob thang yet, but hitting 50 in exactly one month's time (eek) means an invitation will no doubt soon be forthcoming.

GGG - will do a little NL download when I have a bit more time. Right now, need to round up teens and get in the car.

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/01/2017 08:29

Cloud, try Debenhams for bras. They often have their large bosomed ranges with 20% off. I like Curvy Kate and Fantasie - if you find a style that fits, have a look on BraStop or eBay for the same bra for a lot less.

Boob squish didn't hurt. Having boob clamped in a vice while sitting up to remove dodgy cells was one of the most unpleasant things I've had done to me.

hattymattie · 17/01/2017 08:36

CV - can you let me have NL stuff too as thinking of long weekend in April.

I hate squishy thing too and them they said my (smallish) boobs were too dense and had to scan them anyway - they may as well have done that straight away!

Cremolafoam · 17/01/2017 08:51

Squishy boob machine is over before you know it. It's awkward and uncomfortable, but no , not sore, and I am large of nork. For reference purposes at Pilates last night we were doing a position where there was supposed to be a golf ball sized space between chin and chest. I tried to not laugh as my bsosms became entangled with my beard, causing the teacher to say quickly that this position doesn't suit everyone's "physique"GrinBlushGrin

Off to practice nurse this morning for blood tests and I am going to get her to look down my achey throat as well. I got the flu on 21st November Crepeys , and I am still under the bloody weather. And, as my sister put it, I doubt want to be sick in the souk. ( morocco 🇲🇦 is just round the corner)

You are on Rose re the pur primer.SmileFlowers

I am going to take notes of all your marvellous suggestions for holidays. We also have New York and Sicily on the list, and lots of friends around the country we need to visit. We've also pencilled in a long weekend in Newcastle environs (Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, Gosforth, etc) to see if we actually like it there!

Re work, it is of course good that there is now lots. But it's so 'feast or famine'. I may well also be taking on tutoring on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings from February, so will be 'flat out like a lizard drinking', as the Aussies would say.

Crem - you made me do an actual LOL with your boobs getting entangled with your beard.

Auriga · 17/01/2017 09:35

Great news Molly. Hope hysteroscopy is a doddle: mine was & combined firm diagnosis and treatment in one go.

Herbs, sorry, I wasn't trying to be 'hard-hitting' Flowers

Reasons to be cheerful

  1. Sun shining
  2. Bach St Matthew Passion
  3. Good coffee and a furry purry lap warmer.

Guardian in good form, did you see John Crace on Gove's Today interview?

herbaceous · 17/01/2017 09:42

I put it badly, Auriga. I meant kind of 'telling it how it is' but in a gentle way. I have a tendency to deny what is happening, and hope it's a blip, but have to face facts.

We're doing the St Matthew P in choir. It is so wonderful. Last night we were rehearsing the chorales, and the final one is so unbearably moving I could hardly sing it. I just kept thinking of MiL...

Right. Must do some work.

motherinferior · 17/01/2017 11:27

The ongoing curtain saga (weeps)

A Very Crepey New Year
herbaceous · 17/01/2017 11:32

The struggle is real, MI. You need something in front of them that is not trying to match. For example your colourful settee. Once the nearly matching chairs are away from the curtains they will look better. And as if they match. Also, everything is too 'central'. You need a bit of asymmetry in your bay window to escape the Brexit.

motherinferior · 17/01/2017 11:38

We have FOUR (4, iv) of those effing blinding chairs.

I have realised I hate that entire room.

herbaceous · 17/01/2017 11:53
