Michael Kors and DKNY handbags

Does anyone know if they are made in the same factory with the same designers ?
They are similar.
Are the two franchises owned by a single company?

I think a lot of bags around this price range are very similar. I'd be interested to know this.

A quick google shows that DKNY is a subsidiary of LVMH and Michael Kors is its own thing (I don know what to call it).

So maybe the same factories...?

I bought a lovely DKNY handbag earlier this year and it's incredibly solid and well made. It looks completely different to a few MK bags I've looked at recently which seem horribly flimsy by comparison.
