Decided to get one of these for Christmas. Noticed some are £200 others £400.

What's the main difference? I have seen the expensive one saying hair free for 8 weeks and the cheaper one saying 7. Is this the only thing?

The main difference is the number of flashes, the more flashes the longer it will ultimately last (all other things being equal). Other than that you have corded or cordless, various attachments, size of aperture, etc. The price of the unit will not make any difference to how long you remain hair free, they all do the same thing.

Before you decide take a look at the Smoothskin Gold too. Similar price but faster to use and and more powerful. I got much better results with it on my yeti legs

Thanks have opted for the smooth skin

Good choice Smile

Another downside to the Phillips is I read several reviews saying the cordless ones die and can't be revived if they're left uncharged for several months e.g. over the winter. Not a problem with corded models including the Smoothskin and they're always ready to go too.
