Long lasting eye shadow

HollyBollyBooBoo · 15/12/2016 20:20

Any recommendations for long lasting, non creasing eye shadow/cream?

My eyelids seem to just absorb eyeshadow, I am yet to find one that lasts more than a couple of hours!

Thanks!

Mac - they are expensive but they last ages because one application lasts all day.

You need an eyelid primer. Urban decay do a good one or I also like the Laura Mercier one. The Nars one gets good reviews but I've never tried it.

I just bought the new Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr eyeshadow for my DDs birthday. She has used them a few times since and they look amazing!

Will be buying some for myself next time I'm in town. There's on 3 fir 2 offer at Superdrug too.

Thanks all, will check them out!

I use the NYX primer followed by the base for powder shadows. The first is in a white tube, the second is in the black tube. I also have the colour tattoo eye shadows, brilliant but they dry up quickly - and I'm fanatical about putting the lids on. Cat2 is inquisitive!

Maybelline one is doing well. Been on since 8am and only just starting to crease and dissolve a bit. Thanks for the recommendation!

Mac. You'd survive a hurricane and still have your eyeshadow on. And they are pigment heavy so a little goes a long way.

mowglik · 17/12/2016 19:53

I agree with using an eyeshadow primer, I have super oily lids so I get creases from any brand within a couple of hours but with urban decay primer potion under it will last until the next day (as I tested a few times in my youth!)

You can then use pretty much any eyeshadow I used to use cheap W7 glitter dust eyeshadows and they would look good all day

Helloooooitsme · 17/12/2016 19:55

Agree with maybelline colour tattoo. It's the best eye shadow I've ever used for non creasing.

Wellhellothere1 · 17/12/2016 21:03

I have very oily lids too and the urban decay primer didn't really work with me. The only eyeshadow I find stays on is the Bobbi Brown cream shadows in little pots. I apply it with a brush, after just my usual primer, and it lasts all day. Doesn't budge! I'm going to check out the maybelline colour tattoo based on the recommendations above.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 17/12/2016 21:42

Just ordered the UD primer so will see if that does anything for me.

I always use Urban Decay and, with or without primer, it doesn't move.
(I never remember to take my make-up off after a night out either and it's always still in place in the morning!)

You can apply powder eyeshadows on top of the Maybelline tattoos, and they will act as a primer. I like Creamy Beige (very similar to Mac Groundwork) or Barely Branded for this.

I also love Bobbi Brown's cream shadows, both in the wee pot and the stick format, but they are fairly pricey.

Judydreamsofhorses · 18/12/2016 12:32

The Nars eyeshadow primer is the best one in my opinion - I put it on at 6.30am and my makeup's still going strong in the evening. The UD one creased horribly on me, worse than wearing eye makeup with no primer.

mumsnit · 18/12/2016 15:37

Yy to Maybelline colour tattoo - it's excellent stuff! I also have two of the Collection eyeshadow palettes which are really good and amazing value for money.

If you have a Kiko in your area, the eye primer from there is good!

Oblomov16 · 18/12/2016 16:06

checks out the maybelline....

Oblomov16 · 18/12/2016 16:09

But which colour ????????

mumsnit · 18/12/2016 16:54

I have the Bronze one - really glittery, pigmented colour!
