Please help my poor eyes

Normally my eyes are fine, but after two concurrent colds I now seem to have constantly watery, puffy eyes, worse in the morning.
My eye make up has slid down my cheeks by mid morning and I permanently look like I've been crying. The skin below my eyes and above my eye lids is swollen and puffy.
I have some lubricating eye drops that I got from the chemist today so am going to try those, but any suggestions for something soothing that will take the puffiness down?
And a good waterproof mascara and kohl pencil please?
I look like a weepy eyed mole. People keep asking me if I am ok Confused

Try not wearing any eye makeup for a while and see if that helps things to calm down.

And for soothing, try cotton wool pads soaked in witch-hazel. Chill the witch-hazel first, if possible.

Stop wearing make up. At least for a few days.

Gp. You don't get spare eyes. And stop irritating them further with make up!

I stopped wearing eye makeup because I developed a rash, and the swollen eyelids and watery eyes that I'd had for a while stopped almost immediately. Felt a fool that I hadn't realised sooner that I had developed a sensitivity to makeup.

Try using heat pads on your eyes and lid wipes after, if you replace your mascara regularly and do this 2x month it should help

My eyes go like that when I've got a sinus infection. Are you sure you don't need an antibiotic?

HeCantBeSerious · 13/12/2016 20:55

Couple of teaspoons kept in the fridge. And Blinc mascara. (But not till you've sorted whatever this is out)

Hmm yes, probably should not use eye make up for a few days, but I look so appalling without it, and I don't use much, honestly.....
Witch hazel is a good shout. I have some somewhere.

How about aloe gel? I have a tub of that but didn't know if it would be ok around the eyes.

Does this really warrant a trip to the Drs? For watery puffy eyes?
