Does it exist?

Ive stopped fake tanning so Im ghostly now and need a new foundation.

Whenever I go to beauty counters they never have a pale enough colour (or its pink toned) so they try to push the lightest shade they have on me, even though its too dark.

I tried doublewear at a counter yesterday but the lightest shade was orange on me. The sales person said I could just take it down my neck and nobody would know Confused
She then tried to flog me the concealer as it was a better shade match (but still orange).

So, any Doublewear dupes for ghostly oily skin?

Reckon colorstay in ivory. The oily/combination one is good and very pale.

ophiotaurus · 11/12/2016 10:05

Revlon! Autocorrect fail!

singleandfabulous · 11/12/2016 10:19

Thanks ophiotaurus I'll have a look at that today. Does it last all day without sliding?

Try chanel vitalumiere or go highend as they have more colour range

CaptainWarbeck · 11/12/2016 10:53

I was going to say Revlon colorstay too. They go very pale and make the foundation in two preparations, for oily or dry skin. I used Lancome for ages and the Revlon is better at keeping the oil under control. Plus it has good staying power and is cheaper!

CaptainWarbeck · 11/12/2016 10:53

Oh and I'm yellow toned and it matches my skin. I tried double wear and didn't love it.

CateGory8 · 11/12/2016 13:06

I think I read that Bobbi Brown foundations lean more yellow. They have a pale foundation named Alabaster that might suit.

pseudonymity · 11/12/2016 13:50

If your neck is darker than your face then do match to the neck. See Lisa Eldridge.

ophiotaurus · 11/12/2016 14:22

The revlon lasts really well

hollinhurst84 · 11/12/2016 14:32

NARS Siberia I binned off as I'm ghostly pale but pink toned and it was v definitely yellow toned

JimineyJelickers · 11/12/2016 14:35

Try Missha in colour 21, it's a Korean bb cream that is perfect for my super pale oily skin.

link I have the bb cream but I think this foundation would give more coverage.

On the high street the best I found was Bourjois healthy mix 51 and Revlon colour stay, but they are not as pale as Missha.

Crawlingupthewalls · 11/12/2016 14:40

Another vote for the Bobbi brown ones - they have lots of pale toned shades and they are all yellow toned. I've never been able to find a Chanel foundation that isn't a little dark on me and Clinique and Estée Lauder go orange on me except their BB and CC options which are somehow better but maybe a bit glowy for what you are after. Really like bourjois as well for high street option and no7 has loads of pale shades but I don't know how well they wear etc...

OlennasWimple · 11/12/2016 14:42

Another vote for Bourjois Healthy Mix - I have pale, yellow toned skin too, and found this the best budget buy. No 7 also have some good options, particularly if you have a £5 off voucher Smile

Yes Bobbi Brown lean more towards yellow. They probably could match you but I'm not sure about the all-day-staying power.

Revlon colorstay for oily skin has the sticking power of pva glue. Never budges and lasts all day.

Chanel colours I find good, but they won't last the day. And occasionally they oxidise on me which is ver annoying because they are my favourite. They used never oxidise on me but my last bottle does. Fiercely annoying.

Bourjois colours are good, but they won't last the day either.

My friend lives the long stay Lancôme one but she's pinkish, I'm not keen. I tried the Dior equivalent, wasn't keen either.

Yes I see I've tried loadsBlush. The hunt for the perfect foundation. I have never tried Mac for some reason.

Pistachiois50pmore · 11/12/2016 19:28

NARS Gobi is yellow toned if it's pale enough for you? Or Shu Uemura does good pale yellow but Google their numbering system cos it's quite complicated

vintagechick43 · 11/12/2016 19:38

Another one for bourjois healthy mix, think I've got vanilla but will check. I'm yellow toned and I find it does last all day and definitely gives me a healthy glow.

singleandfabulous · 11/12/2016 21:52

Interesting.

I used to use Boujoir healthy mix in 51. I might go back.

Tried chanel vitalumier too but the lightedt shade was too dark.

Mischa bb cream was pale but pink toned on me.

Ill see if i can get to a bobby brown counter in the week and try that.

I wonder why so few if the high end make up houses make pale foundation. Im pake but not unusually pale considering i live in the northern hemisphere. Confused

I tried MAC Studio sculpt and Studio Fix in NC15 but it looked horrible. not a nice finish at all. I love their face&body in summer though.

My neck is a lot paler than my face. I think its the red veins and brown spots sadly. Grin

I use a korean bb ccream, its actually high coverage, not like a bb cream at all. Its very pale, and there is an even paler one. I'll look for a link.
