I don't know how to describe how I want to look - sort heavily made up but not caked in make up Confused. I'd like my face to look shiny . I normally wear foundation or sometimes tinted foundation but I'm not getting the look I'm after .

Can anyone help ? Does anyone even know what I'm on about ? Grin

I think you are after a heavy creamy foundation with brightening properties? I wear DiorSkin foundation, it's quite thick, if you pump some on the back of your hand it didn't drop of, you can. Hold it up so it's heavy, or put it on thinly, it's got a glow to it. My friend wore Dior Forever which was even heavier but I've not tried it. She loved it and always looked VERY made up.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/12/2016 19:28

Dewy?

hecallsmebunny · 09/12/2016 19:28

Do you mean "dewy" rather than shiny? Not sure I can help much as I wear estee lauder double wear but apply immediately on top of moisturiser for a lighter finish. It lasts so well without looking heavy but I apply a mineral veil over it for a more matte finish. Perhaps google dewy foundation to find one with an illuminating finish?

Crikey loads of typos. I mean you can build it up so it's heavy or apply it thinly so it's natural.

Snap DameDiazepam Grin

BusterGonad · 09/12/2016 19:32

Or you could use a heavy foundation mixed with Benefit High Beam for the glow aspect!

CondensedMilkSarnies · 09/12/2016 19:33

Dewy ! Yes that's it ! I was going to say sweaty but that's really not a good look Grin.

Oh Dior isn't as expensive as I feared! Fantastic ! I will treat myself .

Next thing is what blusher ?

Yes dewy definitely sounds better than sweaty Grin Clinique cheek pop is nice

BusterGonad · 09/12/2016 20:53

If you want to be dewy get a cream blusher, I've got the Smashbox LA lights lip and cheek pencils. Very dewy and lovely.

BusterGonad · 09/12/2016 20:54

And get the LA lights highlighter to run across the top of your cheek bones. You will look all glowy and amazing!

CondensedMilkSarnies · 09/12/2016 21:10

I've never tried cream blusher - I'm looking at all your suggestions Thankyou

I've found the Dior foundation for £24 only 30ml but I don't think that's expensive .

Glamorousglitter · 10/12/2016 04:16

Armani foundation is like this can't remember the name but it s perectxfor this look

BusterGonad · 10/12/2016 12:09

Glamorous is it luminous silk foundation? I've heard it's good.

CondensedMilkSarnies · 10/12/2016 13:06

I'm off to have a browse round Boots. I've put foundation on today and think my problem is that the shade is far too light for me. I look like my head's been transplanted onto someone else's body ! Why have I just noticed this Confused

LiefieLiefie · 10/12/2016 13:20

Armani Luminous Silk is the bomb.

Match your foundation to your collar bone/neck area so that it all blends and is the same colour.

BusterGonad · 10/12/2016 13:23

Don't forget OP to test the foundation in natural daylight, and some can oxidize (go darker) after a while.

CondensedMilkSarnies · 10/12/2016 13:24

Thankyou I will

I always test it in my jaw line, usually 3 shades similar to my skin tone and then I go outside the shop to have a good look.
