Can I doll this up for Christmas Day?

I have this jumpsuit hanging in my cupboard and I am wondering if I could dress it up for a Christmas Day with the family outfit. It isn't a lightweight material as they say. It is really heavy.

Might it be ok, or is it too dowdy? It fits really well.

If you think glamming it up is not a lost cause, what would you put with it. I was thinking strappy heels but I am a bit stuck as to what shape of necklace might work because of the v neck.

I think you can definitely wear that and it'd be really comfortable.

I'd wear it with a long silver pendant, a bit like this and some velvet ankle boots

or some embellished flats

Necklace

The 3/4 sleeves would look good with some bangles/bracelets if you don't want to do necklace? Or even a brooch? There are some fab ones in vintage stores in the shape of xmas trees set with sparkly stones...i'm not explaining well...i'll find a pic...

Oh that's a relief .I thought I was going to be told it was awful. Thanks a lot.

I was thinking of a tassel necklace so again I am very relieved not to be way off track

So you think black shoes? I was thinking nudey / greigish colour. Hmm interesting. Maybe I will go velvet.

Maybe chunky gold bangles instead of a necklace?

It's not awful, it's lovely but Beware - I wore something similar to a Christmas gathering at my house and was asked several times why I was wearing my pyjamas...you probably have more mature friends than me tho 😁

It's lovely and can easily be dressed up. I would either go with Santaspants necklace selection or stack a load of gold bangles on one arm. I'd go with sparkly/embellished flats and a red lip. You'll look fantastic and be comfortable.

I think if you wear heels and a long silver necklace it will definitely work, especially with hair and make up done, but I think in flat shoes you risk looking like your wearing , well not quite pyjamas, but like the adult version of a onesie that you wear to lounge around in.

I actually think it's lovely too, but I'm not sure I would buy it as a going out outfit, I'd have to see it on.

margaritasbythesea · 08/12/2016 17:09

I bought it to go out in the evenings this summer when we were staying in a house near the beach but I didn't wear it because it was too hot. It's one of the reasons I want to find a new use for it.

I find costume jewellery trickycas I'm allergic to something that is commonly used in it but I certainly can't afford the real thing.

I'm going to spend a happy evening searching about now it's been given the go ahead.

I did take a photo of me in it but it won't load for some reason. I'll try on the laptop later.

That's really nice. Definitely keep your hair up and wear a long silver necklace. And open toe heels, I'd say - silver or black, probably.

GettingitwrongHauntingatnight · 08/12/2016 18:07

It looks much better on you than yhe model. Good ideas!

margaritasbythesea · 08/12/2016 18:30

Oo thank you. I was a bit disappointed thinking I looked a bit broad across the hips and feeling a bit dumpy. I'm very happy you think it looks nice. Thank you.

Looks lovely on you! Seeing it on, you could definitely wear heels with it. Maybe a nice cuff instead of bangles.

budgetsbonus · 08/12/2016 19:52

you look fab in it, agree better than the model. its lovely - minimal but striking.

margaritasbythesea · 08/12/2016 20:19

Thank you very much. I am off to hunt for heels!
