Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream

I bloody love this stuff, despite it costing an arm and a leg. A lovely MNer offered a code recently so I stocked up.
My question is this: how would you describe the scent of it? It's quite powerfully fragranced, which I love, personally. But I can never put my finger on what fragrances are in there ( ingredient list helpfully says "parfum")

Does anyone use it and how would you describe the scent? To me it's floral but there's something else in there I can't put my finger on it and it's niggling at me. It smells like warm cashmere and white flowers to me but my sense of smell is terrible and my ability to describe smells even worse!

Anyone?

Gardenia.

I hate the smell of it.

It's earthy/savoury to the point of unpleasant to me. Like truffles and a bit fishy. Definitely doesn't smell like gardenias!

Bleurgh.

White tropical flowers, if you're looking for that sort of smell in perfumes.

ooo no, it smells of fish to me, hasnt it got seaweed in or something?

I bought an Elemis set off QVC, all the products are very strongly perfumed.

The first time that I used the cream I did so at night, what a mistake, the smell kept me awake. I only use this cream maybe once per month, the smell is just so off putting, it is gross. Its a shame as the cream makes my face very soft and smooth and make-up sits nicely but I just cannot bear the pong. I was considering binning it.

That's interesting - wildly different responses! I can't smell anything fishy in it but I'm not saying it isn't there- maybe the perfume is strong to cover up any fishyness? >ponders

I have a nose like a bloodhound.
No fishy business there.
