What for, you need to expand a bit I'm afraid!

It's a Christmas meal at a hotel (evening). I think it's one of those mass party things with block bookings from various companies.

I'd probably go in something like a pair of nice black trousers, heels and a nice top, something sleeveless and eveningy but not glittery.

Alternatively good jeans, heels and a more dressy evening top.

The last time I went on a do like that I thought 'Fuck smart casual, I fancy dressing up' and wore a knee length cocktail-ish dress. In fact I got it right as most people were pretty dressed up; not full-on evening wear but not too far off it.

I'd wear my usual dressy stuff like a nice lace dress and heels with a clutch bag.

burnishedsilver · 07/12/2016 09:06

I'd dress up anyway.

Looks like I'll have to travel there on the train and meet the others at the hotel. Best go for the black trousers and nice top combo then rather than dress and fancy shoes.
