Lady garden Blush

I am sick of forking out to get it done.. Does anyone do their own? Is it difficult?

I do!

I got it done professionally. Then regularly once a fortnight I use Larissa - face, brow and bikini hot wax.
As you are only maintaining it's doable and not really that painful. If you wanted to start from an overgrown jungle it might be a bit more tricky.

GoodEnough15 · 06/12/2016 20:39

Thanks name, that's what I was thinking, maintenance every couple of weeks. No way would I tackle the jungle... Is that strip wax or the one that you can peel off without the strips? Don't want to rip the fanny off myself!

I do mine too. I use the Veet 'wax' that you heat in the microwave and it works very well. I don't do it more than once every couple of months (am old, so only do bikini line)

megletthesecond · 06/12/2016 21:05

Yes. Quite easy to maintain tbh. I find it doesn't really hurt because it's such a small area to deal with.

Namechangebitch · 06/12/2016 21:18

TMI - below!!

I do my whole undercarriage iykwim. The Parissa is the wax you just peel off. Obviously you have to be careful, checking the temperature etc, but as it is only a bit of regrowth it is only a 10 min job.

Summer23 · 06/12/2016 22:29

Oh no way. Tried the veet wax once and bruised myself. Back to salon waxing for me. It is pricey though.

Summer23 · 06/12/2016 22:30

Haven't tried hot wax though.

buzzlightyearsdinosaur · 07/12/2016 09:27

I used to, I went to a salon supplies shop and bought one of those hot wax heater things, I found it all much easier when the wax was kept at the optimum temperature. It was still far too messy (I am not the best with these things) so now I just epilate instead.

AyeAmarok · 07/12/2016 09:32

I do. And I remove quite a lot.

I use the Nads microwaveable hot wax for bikini lines, so no strips. You put it on and it hardens a bit and you pull it off.

It's not that sore either. Sometimes the anticipation is the worst bit.

I've saved an absolute fortune doing it myself.

Aquamarine70 · 07/12/2016 14:09

I do my own Brazilian (all taken off) but I am a beauty therapist so I use professional hot wax. I do it every 3-4 weeks.

frogsandco · 07/12/2016 15:25

My God. I had a go at this last week. I had some Veet cold strips. I warmed them in my hands and pressed the first one down. Deep breath, pull! All the wax stayed stuck on the hair and my skin. Couldn't get it off with the little wipes provided so emptied a load of baby oil on and scrubbed with a cloth. Still stuck. Tried to use my trimmer to get it off. Still stuck. Had to use a razor to scrape it off and ended up with the most horrendously itchy regrowth. So no,I won't be trying that again.

Any ideas what went wrong anyone? The hairs weren't overly long and I pulled the strip close to the skin. Do I just have weird pubes??

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/12/2016 15:33

Frogs- that was my experience with Veet on my legs- utter shit!

AyeAmarok · 07/12/2016 16:22

Frogs I also find Veet shit and prone to doing that.

Hot wax will make a huge difference.

This is the one I use:

frogsandco · 07/12/2016 17:35

I'm glad my Veet issue isn't because I've got unusual public hair,I was a little concerned. I wouldn't mind having a try of hot wax but I don't have a microwave wah!

Craigie · 07/12/2016 18:13

FFS, leave it alone. Is there anything more revolting than a grown woman with a prepubescent fanny? Boak.

Janey50 · 07/12/2016 18:19

Craigie that's exactly what I thought. Why do the majority of women nowadays feel that they have to have a fanjo like a 10 year old?! I've always regarded it as normal to remove hair from your legs, underarms, face and bikini line if necessary, but the whole lot down there? Just why? I think it must be a 'woman thing' as I honestly don't think the vast majority of normal blokes are bothered.

frogsandco · 07/12/2016 18:33

Well, I only do the sides so I don't look disgusting in my swimming costume. The thought of getting right in there with wax, cream or a blade makes me wince Blush

frogsandco · 07/12/2016 18:37

Just to clarify, I'm not saying that pubic hair is something to be ashamed of but I really don't want mine to be on show when I'm getting in and out of the pool!!

AyeAmarok · 07/12/2016 19:07

Well I have to say, hair or no hair, my fanjo looks nothing like a 10 year old's. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

Plus, not everyone who waxes removes all of the hair.

Namechangebitch · 07/12/2016 19:22

Janey50 and Craigie - it's a personal choice and amoung other things it can - depending on the individual - significantly increase sexual sensitivity.

I don't know why other people do it, that's up to them, but I know why I do itWink.
