A foundation that doesn't sit in lines

Does any one know of one ? I've recently been using Lancôme teint idole ultra or bobbi brown long wear. Both tend to make my skin look horrid (more so the bobbi brown) and they sink into my pores and fine lines. My skin isn't terrible and I'm only 25, I'm wary of making my self look older with shite foundation, but I'm not brave enough to do away with it.

Any one have any recommendations? I tend to have to buy more high end foundations as the drug store brands aren't light enough for my skin tone.

Bobbi brown longwear does the same to me, I look horrible in it. I've been using the Urban Decay naked liquid one and find that pretty good, it 'sets' quickly and doesn't really shift when it has. I can also get away with no powder, or just a tiny bit, which helps with the caking in the lines.

I use Chanel perfection lumiere which is excellent, and I also use the tendre version when I just want something light and not to wear basically anything else. I'm 47. Evens out the tone and makes my skin look nice.

I use a Lush skin primer and Liz Earle moisturiser before applying said foundations. dame do you have a recommendation for primers ? Wouldn't really know where to begin, may save me a bit of money before deciding to ditch my current foundations.

mister what's the coverage like on naked skin ? I've thought about trying the all nighter as I I know it's full coverage ?

I use no7 airbrush away. It's a thin fluid and I build it up to get coverage, but over a primer I find its the only one that doesn't looked "cracked" around my eyes after a long day.

I've ditched foundation completely for Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser

I love the boots number 7 colour match foundation. The radiance boost is really, really good for disguising issues with my skin.

I've been trying out the Laura Mercier Candleglow foundation with their hydrating primer underneath and that's working well for me. It's sheer, doesn't settle into my lines (I'm quite a bit older than you!) and still looks good at the end of the day. It feels very light and it isn't obvious I'm wearing foundation.

The urban decay is medium coverage I would say, it is buildable though. I don't use primer ever because it's more faff and I think that foundation works really well.

I use Estée Lauder double wear light. I wear a tiny bit day to day and use a real techniques buffing brush to buff into skin. I sometimes wear a Rimmel primer underneath if in need it to last. I'm 36 and don't have any problems with it settling into lines.

I've used number 7 before and found it to be good, but it's just not light enough and leaves me looking orange. Trying to find a shade whiter than white is quite the mission!

I have "challenging" skin..to get a foundation for, super dry, but using moisturisers and primers just give me the smears on my nose, not using them gives me flaky bits elsewhere.
I'm game though and will often let the make up technicians in stores have a go with their products on me..often followed with an, " oh, I see what you mean..Erm" then nothing..
I'm pretty impressed with cliniques even better though

Do you give your moisturizer time to sink in before applying your foundation? It needs at least 5 minutes, then try a primer, then foundation and maybe a very thin dusting of loose powder, I tap my brush on the edge of the table so the excess comes off, If you crease around the eyes it could be too much eye cream, you only need a grain of rice amount for both eyes and do not apply to the lids. I use No7 stay perfect primer and Smashbox the clear one.

I love Diorstar foundation, my skin veers into the dry side. I have a few lines from nose to mouth and around my eyes. I don't have major foundation in wrinkles issues.

I'd say it could be your foundation. The Bobbi Brown long wear does the same thing to me and I'm 30. I like the Urban Decay Naked foundation mwntioned above and Nars Sheer Glow or Studio Fix Fluid also work well for me.

Round my eyes isn't a problem area, it's mainly laughter lines around my mouth (need to stop smiling so much ) and pores that are the problem areas. Powder makes me look 1000 times worse, even just the tiniest sprinkling.

I'm going to ditch the bobbi brown and find a decent primer and stick it out with the last of my Lancôme before trying any other foundations. Fingers crossed I find a decent primer!

I put a tiny bit of jojoba oil on my finger and dab it under my eye to stop the creases (only place in wrinkled). A la Beauty and the Boutique.

Lancôme and I think Bobbi Brown are Nestle companies.

MAC face and body is really light for every day wear. A step above a tinted moisturiser, but you can build it up if you need a bit more coverage in some areas.

It's not the foundation, it's your skin.
Any foundation will sit in the lines if you're dehydrated.
Or it might be the wrong colour. If the colour match is bad, then the foundation is very visible.

Moisturise and let it sink in.

I find my foundation and concealer goes into my lines if my skin is too moist, if I use Astral it will (foundation) migrate into my lines, if I use a lighter moisturizer it doesn't. Some makeup artists swear by not applying moisturizer if they use a primer. I've never done this as my skin is too dry and I can't bear not to moisturize.

Body Shop and Illamasqua both do a whitening foundation mixer. The Body Shops lightening fluid is only £10 so its worth the investment if you have loads of darker foundations that you can't use.

I use Nars all day weightless in the shade Siberia and its light enough and has a thin texture. This could be worth a try.

I have old skin, (mid 40s) dry and sensitive and use Max Factor Ageless Elixir Foundation, it has serum in it and makes my skin look glowing and doesn't clog and sit in lines.
