I'm a bit scared. Especially as I don't have a tumble dryer.
Has anyone any experience?

I have a real down jacket from uniqlo and have washed and tumble dried it several times. The tumble drying seems quite important as the down is all bunched up when wet and the tumbling helps spread it out again.

What does the label say?

I recently washed a down jacket from Uniqlo - it said I could handwash it so I put it in the washing machine and turned the dial to "handwash" - it was absolutely fine and no need for a tumble dryer.

It says hand wash only, the whole thing is polyester, so I was happy I could just fling it in the machine until I read the label and it said something about the filling clumping or something.
Hang on I will have another look...

It says you can't tumble dry it!
Okay I'm gonna forget the whole down thing and just treat it like an anorak!

If it's polyester it will come out the way it went in !!

Down / feather needs to be re puffed by a tumble dryer but not poly filling . It will be fine . Don't worry !

I hope so it's in the machine!
I luffs that jacket, so warm and soft and no rustle Grin

DD has one and I've washed it many times. Gentle machine wash. Hang it up to dry and when it's completely dry redistribute the filling by pinching it apart along the seams. Takes about 10 minutes but works perfectly.
