Shoes or boots to go with 1950s full skirts...

...that aren't twee or 'rockabilly'.

I live in the country so the normal sorts of shoes that people put with 'Betty Draper' skirts would last about 5 seconds. However, I absolute love the skirts and dresses! I normally wear wedge boots. What foot-based alternatives am I looking at? Ankle boots maybe?

Give me your wisdom Oh stylish women of MN

In nice weather I wear t-bar heels from Good for the Sole, but those might be a bit 'twee' for you.

In bad weather, I wear knee high black boots, long enough the the top is hidden by the skirt.

Good tip Fiona! I hadn't for a second considered knee high boots but I can definitely imagine that working. That's opened up quite a few possibilities for me.

So excited to receive my new skirts (went on a bit of shopping spree yesterday)!

Kitten-heeled pumps or sling-backs?
