Warm christmas party outfit

I need help. I am always cold. Not just a bit chilli, freezing, turning blue cold. I'm going to a fairly casual Christmas party (in a pub so not mega dressy can definitely get away with trousers). I've seen a nice glitzy top that I really like but it's strappy and I know I will freeze. What I really want is a nice jacket or cardi to go over the top but not sure what. If at all possible in navy but I would settle for black. Any ideas?

Velvet jackets are all over the place this year, thank god. I've still got mine from last time round (at least 12 yrs ago! god bless Whistles) and I wear it every winter as I suffer from the same affliction! you can also get all manner of strappy thermals to go underneath glam tops (M&S are partic good for these)

Yes a velvet jacket could definitely work and I'll take a look in marks to see if they have that could work underneath, I don't normally leave the house without one of their long sleeve heat techs!
