Diamond experts - is this a good price for replacing stone

I've been quoted £1k for replacing a gemstone in a ring I own with a 0.5 carat diamond.

Does this seem like a good or fair price?

Thanks

Depends what is the colour and clarity is it graded VSI or below?

DottieDoLittle · 02/12/2016 17:10

The quote says HSI2

Look at Blue Nile.com you can find out prices for diamonds and filter your exact requirements. I've bought diamonds in the Middle East but not the UK.

Thanks zara that's really helpful.

A loose diamond is about £850 so to have it fitted, labour etc, seems a fair price.
