rose gold hair?

pinkcandyflossy · 02/12/2016 15:22

I have a hair appointment very soon and am thinking of getting golden highlights with rose gold in it too.

Has anyone had rose gold hair and how do you find it? Does it last well? Did you prefer just being normal blonde? If anyone wants to post a picture of their hair that would be really helpful (and hopefully inspirational!)

Thanks in advance!

Hey! I supposedly had my hair done rose gold a few weeks ago... the hairdresser decided to turn it a weird shade of purpley-grey instead!! It was a disaster, I then had to have it bleached 3 times the following week to fade it out (I'm normally a very light blonde, so wrongly assumed it would be easy!). My advice would be to check with the hairdresser first so they can get the right colour in, I think mine just didn't want to say they didn't have a pink so used a purple instead, and presumably hoped I wouldn't notice?!?! X

Omg lili that can't have been a nice experience. Yeah does sound like either the hairdresser did not have the right colour or 'thought' it would look better the purple and decided to do that. Sometimes hairdressers do like to do that :(

How does it look now?

I just hope she can do a round of highlights first (half head) and then maybe paint on some of the pink.

I would ring and speak to the hairdresser first. I had rose gold hair, she did blonde highlights and she had a bleach that had the pink dye also in it, it came out lovely subtle rose gold and when it washed out over time it was bleached underneath anyway so still looked good

pinkcandyflossy · 02/12/2016 15:42

Oh thanks for the tip Fee! That sounds like exactly what I'm after :)

I had it done, the hairdressers mixed a pink with a golden blonde I think. I loved it.

Dark haired one here
Sorry no info but I am so jealous of people who can have fair hair but that rose gold pic has made me even more jealous!!!

WarwickDavisAsPlates · 02/12/2016 15:56

I had mine done, I loved it but the pink did wash out very quickly (only a few days) now I just buy a wash in rose gold dye and do it when I feel like having a bit of a different look for an occasion.

pinkcandyflossy · 02/12/2016 15:57

Pardon that looks lovely and subtle. Did it last long for you?

Miaow I know what you mean and that kind of worries me as I only have fine hair (the worst hair ever)

Lori I guess we are never happy, I'd rather have dark glossy hair as I like to wear red lipstick and I think that looks so stunning on people with dark hair :)

Warwick would you mind telling me which rose gold dye you get? I have a feeling mine may end up being more occasion hair then perm.

Also did anyone find they had to darken their eyebrows? I'd just been reading about it and it says the best match is a darker eyebrow than you may usually have - all things to consider!

it lasted about 6 weeks, washed out really evenly, however was a complete pain to get back to 100% white blonde as some of the pink stuck to the ends.

this is what my hairdresser uses www.alfaparfmilano.com/en/color/pigments/

CaptainBrickbeard · 02/12/2016 16:19

Also interested in Warwick's rose gold wash as have been hankering after rose gold hair for a while but can't commit to it long term as my employer bans us from having unnatural colours in our hair so I have to wait til the Christmas holidays!

Feefeefs · 02/12/2016 16:51

I always darken my eyebrows as they are very fair-much fairer than natural head hair. However I did find darker than usual looked good with the rose gold.

HardcoreLadyType · 02/12/2016 17:02

I have had it done. I had balayage, so it was more an ombré effect. The pink washes out very quickly, but you can use Bleach London Rose shampoo and conditioner, and it keeps the colour topped up. It really does work.

JeffJarrett · 02/12/2016 17:11

^^ I second the Bleach London Rose shampoo and conditioner. Just those alone have washed out to make mine a lovely rose gold colour.
I find it's more of an ombré though where my hair has been bleached, doesn't take as well on the rest.

Candlelight123 · 02/12/2016 18:22

Very jealous of you all, my hair is way too dark and I really love this waaaah Xmas Envy

WarwickDavisAsPlates · 02/12/2016 18:35

It was the bleach London colour. I might have to check out the shampoo and conditioner as well as I'd prefer it to last a bit longer.

WarwickDavisAsPlates · 02/12/2016 18:46

This is not a very good picture but it's the only one I could find of when I had any rose gold in my hair. It had washed out w bit by then so it was very inoffensive for work.

rose gold hair?
pinkcandyflossy · 03/12/2016 15:19

Thanks for al your replies but it was not meant to be yesterday! The salon only had the apricot and not enough strawberry to mix with it and since my hair is long they said it's best to come back and they will do it for free, so I just had a full head of golden champagne highlights which looks good as it happens but my rose gold dream will have to wait a little longer!

I have dark hair naturally and have got rose gold balayage similar to Pardon's colour. So it can be done dark haired people!

I use the Bleach London shampoo/conditioner twice a week and every other week, the toner.

I've had it like this for about 9 months and this routine keeps it looking good. I think I'll go back dark in the New Year though.

Bijouxxx · 05/12/2016 21:36

Miaow how long does that dye last? I'm tempted..

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 06/12/2016 02:08

Are you near any salons that are affiliated with Guy Tang products?

He does metallic dyes- they're quite lovely.

linky

It's very hard to get right though. I've only found one salon in my region so far that does it well.
