What do you think of this watch? If you like it which strap would you choose?

or this one?

I prefer the second link Smile

bojorojo · 02/12/2016 15:57

Second. Have a look at Tissot PR and Traditional ranges. Well priced classic watches.

Bejazzled · 02/12/2016 18:56

Thank you both, I will look at Tissot as well. 🙂

I love them both but, 2 is beautiful

OCSockOrphanage · 02/12/2016 20:48

Both are lovely. Your DH will be thrilled. Personally, I like the Farer with the jeans strap. Not that you should be influenced by my preference. (Wasn't keen on a black strap with either, but your choice of strap needs to run along with the clothes he mostly wears. Black is very formal so unless he's expected to wear grey or navy suits to work, I'd probably choose a middling colour for versatility.

Screamer1 · 02/12/2016 22:39

Like the second. If you like that style uniform wares have lovely ones.

Ohthepressure · 03/12/2016 07:42

Is the recipient into watches? If they are, they might appreciate some input, as tastes can differ, from dress watches to dive watches, chronometers, all sorts. My DH got a Christopher Ward watch, they're well made, and often have discount codes especially in the run-up to Christmas. They're a higher price bracket though. www.christopherward.co.uk/watches/dive

Beware watch fever taking over though! If they like looking at watches, how about this www.amazon.co.uk/Wristwatch-Handbook-Comprehensive-Mechanical-Wristwatches/dp/185149829X

GinIsIn · 03/12/2016 07:45

Have a look at Daniel Wellington and Larson and Jennings too.

Gizlotsmum · 03/12/2016 07:46

Love Christopher Ward watches. Their 'nearly new' offers fab discounts and I honestly couldn't spot anything ( not even a smear) on the one I got for DH and was almost half price

Sukitakeitoff · 03/12/2016 07:52

I love your first link. I would probably go for the black strap but Jeans or maybe chocolate brown look good too. Depends if your dh would be wearing it with a suit for work or for more casual wear.

Hi everyone - thanks so much for the answers. I ended up going for the 2nd link in silver. DH has collected many watches from ££££ (which don't get worn that often! to ££, all different styles and colours. Last year I had a really bad customer service experience from Christopher Ward (which he really likes) so I'm not buying from them again.
I really liked the Farer in blue jeans and a lot of the suggestions given on here as well but will keep them under my hat for the future. Buying a watch is a minefield isn't it - there are so many?

We are going away together for our main Christmas present so this was for under the tree 'from dc', just hope he likes it!
