Navy top with black jeans?

Would you wear this top with black ?

Am looking for a top dressy enough for a dinner/disco type affair - but don't want any TOO glittery or blingy. My shoes have the sparkle.

Is navy and black a no-no ? Or okay nowadays ?

I can buy the same top in black either - just thought it might look a bit drab.

Ines de la fresange (she wrote Parisian chic) and (I think) Christian Dior say it's ok, so I guess so.

I think navy and black are fine, if it's French navy. That top looks a bit too dark to go well with black, imo. I'd go with the black as long as the jeans are a dense black.

mmm -it does look quite a dark navy. I think velour is always a more 'solid' colour.

the jeans are very dark black - only washed once so far so will be fine with the black option either.

Might order both and try them on.
