Fixing spray to cure panda eyes !

Ok a very helpful poster suggested on a thread that I commented on recently (cant remember which one though that I hijacked - sorry !) that I should try fixing spray to "seal" my mascara on - I was complaining about panda eyes which happen regardless of what mascara I use - tubing type or watrerproof or whatever - still searching for my holy grail mascara.

I wear contact lenses in case that changes advice.

any ideas ?
THANK YOU

Urban decay and mac does a fixing spray. I suggest put your usual mascara on go to a counter and ask to sample a spray. Go on about your day and see if it works for you. Nyx (boots) does one aswell and its much cheaper.

DD got a trial size of the Urban Decay one in a travel kit- she loves it .
There's 3 types - hydrate/long lasting /oil reducing IIRC

Do you know why you get the panda eyes on the first place though? Are your eyes watering with the lenses or are you rubbing at them?

MathsFiend · 03/12/2016 14:08

I know you said you've tried tubing mascara, but have you tried the new Clinique one? It's really good, definitely no panda eyes with it.

RosieCockle · 03/12/2016 21:38

The new Clinique one is great for that, yeah. Also Armani Black Ecstasy. There are very very few mascaras i can wear without getting an imprint above my eye after a few hours. Also UD Cannonball. But if all fails, Clarins Double Fix puts an almost rock hard plastic coating over any mascara. It's pretty hard to get off afterwards, but nothing will budge or smudge.

Fozzleyplum · 04/12/2016 04:13

I get terrible panda eyes with any mascara I've tried, with the exception of Clinique tubing mascara.

FannyWincham · 04/12/2016 08:19

The UD fixing spray is good but I wouldn't use it specifically on eyes. Seconding the recommendation for clarins double fix mascara. It's a clear gel that seals normal mascara and makes it waterproof.

Thank you for all the suggestions .

To answer ?s the panda eyes just happen. I don't rub my eyes and my contact lenses are really comfortable. I guess my lids etc are just oily ? My eyes don't water either (well they do in biting chilly winds) but the panda eyes happen all year round regardless of weather conditions.

I use Mac studio fix spray. I put it on at 6.30am once I've applied my make up, and everything is still in place by 12 hours later when I get home from work. You can buy a travel size to test it out.

Madbengalmum · 04/12/2016 19:23

Urban decay one is very good.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/12/2016 19:26

You need No7 intense volume waterproof then take it off with Wilkos sensitive eye make remover which is quid and the best I've EVER tried I'd happily pay 10x that for it.

I have REALLY water eyes and I touch them a lot and the no 7 stuff doesn't shift.

BusterGonad · 05/12/2016 06:55

OP just a quick question, do you use eye cream? Maybe if you do you could be wearing too much, also don't forget to put foundation/concealer around your eyes too as this makes for a great base and helps to stop panda eyes! I get panda eyes if I'm too heavy handed with my eye cream and if I don't wear any makeup base.

BeaLola · 05/12/2016 22:58

Thank you all - keep ideas coming.

Buster good point as I do use eye cream if I can remember and not always concealer to but the panda eyes still happen when professionals do it and use the works eg Chanel mascara ran badly last week and the other month BBrown no smudge mascara didn't live up to its name - both applied by counter staff who used concealer etc etc.

Smudge proof is no good, you need water proof.

BusterGonad · 06/12/2016 03:04

OP all mascara will smudge (except waterproof) if your eyes are too, for want of a better word, moist. You only need a bit the size of a grain of rice for both eyes and put above the eyelid not on the eyelid. Try it. Diorshow waterproof never come off. I've bought it but never use it for this reason!
