Help! Need Restyling for Winter

Hello, after the help I had on here for a wedding outfit, I am pleading for help with a few winter staples. I feel so frumpy and need some ideas please.

I am late thirties, just over 5foot, size 10, but... stocky. I am very sturdy and muscly so anything floaty is a big no,no. Have no boobs (34aa) so that doesn't help. Have good legs. Need to hide upper arms. Tummy is so, so. Scrub up ok, can do good hair and make up.

I am casual. Spent summer in jersey shift dresses or denim shorts/skinny jeans and flip flops. I like denim and cord skirts with woolly tights, but don't know what to wear with them. I quite like fat face and white stuff but feel I am not quite that old yet! My mum wears those things and she looks fab but is late sixties! NEXT seems very boring. I just hate shopping and hate looking online too. I am not creative at all and even if I buy a nice skirt or dress I just don't know how to put an outfit together.

Can you recommend any online retailers that don't have an overwhelming range (I.e. Debenhams). I used to love H&M but need some better quality pieces. For Christmas activities. Casual but smart and comfortable.

Thank you hopefully in advance.

My Autumn/winter uniform is either short-ish a-line skirts with crew neck jumpers, or skinny jeans with blouses (not floaty!). I tend to wear flat Chelsea boots with both, or sometimes biker boots. Obviously opaque tights with the skirts. I am also quite a fan of a pinafore, although I know they are love it/loathe it, and have a few, cord and denim, which look good with jumpers or blouses underneath.

Could you wear your existing cord skirts with a striped jumper or denim shirt? Denim skirt and black polo neck? A really useful item for me which was outside my usual comfort zone was the Hush ruched skirt, which I have in both colours and have worn absolutely loads. I really like their jumpers too, and Topshop knitwear tends to be good for me. In terms of something a bit "nicer", would you wear a leather (or faux leather) or suede skirt? Last Christmas Day I wore a suede skirt with a sparkly jumper, plus opaques and Chelsea boots, so a bit fancy, but not super-posh.

Sorry, that was a bit of an essay with not much sound advice!
