Properly warm gloves that look nice still

I know it's vain but I don't really want very "sporty" looking gloves and I don't have the cash to buy multiple pairs BUT my hands are so cold in normal gloves.

So, oh wise (and hopefully warm handed) ladies of mumsnet, what gloves would you recommend please?

Mittens. Ones with fleecy lining. I live in Canada, I know of what I speak Grin

I've got mittens but they are just knitted and not very warm at all.

Yes, just knitted is no good (same for hats, incidentally). Must have a windproof lining.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 30/11/2016 21:28

Ok. Are there specific materials that are wind proof? I'd like to just buy some gloves ASAP before I lose my fingers on the way to school!

I posted this very question last week I think it was. Recommendations were cashmere gloves or celtic and co sheepskin gloved, which I ordered and they just arrived today. They sent the wrong colour but they do feel very warm. My hands get freezing in this weather.

Oh thank you I'll look at that company's site

To maxx has leather ones with cashmere lining. Warm and toasty.

Sealskin, not made from seals, is v good when wet.

Reading with interest. I've got some of those fleecy thermal onces at the moment, and they are looking a little scabby. Would like something a bit nicer looking.

TheSnorkMaidenReturns · 01/12/2016 00:03

Leather with cashmere lining, unless you live in a wet area.

UGG. Mine must be coming on for 10 years old now but they are so cosy.

I have exactly the same ones as thisismynewname and I agree, very warm.

I can't find the precise ones I've got, but Debenhams have 30% off thermal gloves today, and mine are very warm and smart looking too. link
