Sequin maxi skirt

I have rather audaciously acquired an extremely bargainous silver sequin maxi skirt from River Island. My plan was to wear it in a bling-tastic festive way with a slouchy grey jumper.
However I now realise that such an ensemble is likely to be too hot and sweaty for sequin-maxi-skirt-appropriate occasions, i.e. centrally-heated rooms full of people.
What can I wear instead of a jumper? - a further complication is that I have massive norks (32HH according to the nice lady in Bravissimo).
Help!

Hmm. Silk camisole?

Hate my arms.

Sorry, that wasn't a very constructive response!

A tee shirt (could be long sleeved) a plain white shirt or a denim shirt, depending on what look you're trying to achieve.

OK...

Actually I have a few blingtastic skirts I wear at Christmas time and my fave thing to wear with them is a little black short sleeved jumper. Mine is cheap but a mohair one or similar would look lovely. So you still get the slouchy casual thing but you don't boil to death. Could also work in grey!

Love the skirt BTW, just looked it up!

Yes, have been wondering about a satin T shirt. White shirts never work on me. Denim - could experiment. I'm aiming for effortlessly fabulous, so no pressure there.

Silk shirt? Or even a boxy silk t-shirt style top?

BrillianaHarvey · 28/11/2016 23:40

Ooh yes a silk shirt could be the answer. Boxy silk T shirt plausible too.
God I love Mumsnet!

I just bought a satin tee shirt from Mint Velvet and I totally love it. It might work with the skirt.

BrillianaHarvey · 28/11/2016 23:43

Can you post a link?

It sits a bit off the shoulder.

I have a similar skirt and I wear it with t-shirts. Aim for a light weight, loose, silky style material, slightly baggy and drapey.

H&M can come up trumps for these kind of basics if you can spare the time for a good rummage. If not, Jigsaw or other concessions in John Lewis will have something. I've got a lovely elbow length one from Topshop, it's a few years old now but I'm sure there are similar around still.

There's only size 6 left on HoF but try John Lewis. If you get it off MV website there's a 15% code MINTV15

Just seen thistle's post - short sleeved jumper great idea!
Thanks so much for the suggestions everyone.
