I don't think it's that bad. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be sticking it on my Christmas list, but as others have said, I've seen much worse in M&S (at least there aren't loads of frills on it!). Might be the sort of thing that looks better on than off, if you see what I mean.

Their Christmas window displays this year are awful too. Some kind of red belted outfit (can't work out if it's a dress or a house coat) and another red dress that fits the mannequins poorly. Look like they're made of that cheap red spongey material that's used for Christmas decor and Santa costumes.

I thought it was the mistake of one store but I've seen it in a few now. Looks like something Mrs Overall would wear!

I must be ill as I don't mind the coat or the shorts. The gold dress is very child's dressing up box though!

To be fair, the shorts aren't the worst thing i have ever seen... however, they aren'5 really the sort of shorts you could wear with tights so wtf are they doing in amongst all the a/w collection!?

The gold velvet curtains dress is all wrong. Though the styling and shoes doesn't help.

I think the coat would look good on the right woman, it's a very adult piece & could look fab on someone around 55, 5'10" with honey blonde hair, camel trousers & top underneath.

I thought the same about the gold dress, but also with fabulous shoes instead of those clompy horrors.

A tall, slim person could look really good in that coat, especially if it's worn loose.
On a short person, who's of the more curvy persuasionfat, then I would imagine it would look horrendous.

That rules me and most of M & S customers out.

thanks, having a horrible weekend - glad I started this thread because it has made me laugh a lot..M&S is a good source of fun if not profit for share holders or whoever owns it.

Someone at work has the coat and they look amazing in it. They are very tall but she wears it so well.

I actually like the dress but the shoes are very wrong.

Their trouser section is a sea of flappy legged, ill-fitting, too short horrors.
