Eye cream recommendations please

Can anyone recommend a good eye cream? Preferably one that's good for dark circles. Thanks.

No cream will diminish dark circles no matter what they claim.

You can thicken the skin marginally and therefore make them appear less dark with Retinol and SPF (30+).

Vit C can help brighten the skin somewhat to also help with the appearance of the dark circles.

Have a look at the La Roche Posay Redermic line, they have an eye cream with Retinol. Their Vit C cream from the same line could potentially be used around the eye area provided you tolerate it well, otherwise Kiehl's do a dedicated Vit C eye cream.

Do keep in mind you generally tend to look a bit worse with the Retinol before it improves, it takes months to truly evaluate results.

The dark circles is only secondary just to moisturising really.

I was under the impression retinol thins skin?

Retinol thins skin in the short term but thickens it in the long term, hence you look a bit shit before you look better and time and patience is needed.

If all you need is moisture just use your normal moisturiser up to the eyes OP, unless you have a specific issue or intolerance around the eye area a separate cream really isn't necessary.

Ok so forgetting the dark circles thing, any good recommendations just for moisturising the eye area?

Caudalie Polyphenol [C15] anti winkle eye & lip cream - lovely to use and stops the area under my eyes look dry and wrinkly.

I like the Estée Lauder advanced night repair eye cream/serum. I've repurchased it twice in the past and even managed to to get a friend to give me her sample pot! It's the one in the brown glass pot.

Can I just say Botemp if you use your usual moisturizer around your eyes you are making a big mistake, your skin around your eyes is very thin and your usual moisturizer will be too heavy, so your eyes will look puffy and you could even end up with milia which is such a pain to remove.

It really depends on the person (and their age) Buster. Someone with resillient and unreactive skin, and little to no sensitivities using a good skincare routine will see little added benefit from a seperate eye product. Yes, the skin is slightly thinner and more sensitive than the rest of the face but dependant on the base line of the facial skin condition as a whole determines whether something like an eye cream is a necessity or superfluous.

I personally find a lot of eye creams too heavy and more likely to cause milia and puffiness. I therefore prefer eye serum for my specific needs but it may very well be the opposite for someone else. Since OP hasn't really indicated much beyond a need for moisture it's a tough place to recommend a 'good' eye cream as these things are hardly universal, something that may be good at moisturising the eye area may be far too heavy for someone using oil free product elsewhere. If OP's face moisturiser is the reason for wanting a seperate eye cream at least that gives a good start to where to look, randomly recommending what works for me personally is no guarantee for success here as no two faces will be alike and what is 'good' for some will be disastrous for someone else.

Botemp I agree with you and the only eye cream if any I use is the Nivea in a tube.

Am thinking if a really good one with retinol (will research LRP) or an eye serum (which one do you use?) then I'd use but otherwise no or I just moisturise lightly with my own!

SuperFlyHigh, I use the Verso Super Eye Serum which is a Retinol eye serum, it's a bit pricey but it's 2x the normal amount of eye product and you need very little so it lasts me about a year. I absolutely love it, tingles a bit but my sensitive skin is absolutely fine with but I'd definitely seek out a sample first.
