Trainers for a winter city break?

Can you recommend some trainers for a city break in winter? I have Nike Thea but they are not warm now that the weather is getting chilly. We are going to Lisbon in december and plenty of walking so they have to be comfortable above anything else.

I have Adidas Superstars that are very comfy.

Thanks MakingBaconPancakes, I like the look of the white ones but am worried they may get dirty easily especially on holiday. Will have a look at the black ones in person to see how they are.

I have just bought some black Adidas Gazelles, on special offer at Urbanoutfitters, if that is of any use. They were £56.00

In winter I'd wear Converse with skinnies to keep nice warm ankles. A lot of people don't find them as supportive as proper sports trainers like Adidas though, myself included. My Adidas Superstars are definitely better for walking all day.

I wear converse but I don't wear them in Winter as I find them cold and they are not suitable for wet weather. I wear leather Ash in Winter and they are every bit as comfortable as converse but they are too expensive for what they are. I have New Balance and really rate them for comfort. I like the bright colours of NB.

Get lambswool inserts for the trainers you've got. It's amaing how toasty they make your feet.

I have Asics, which I love. Really comfy, and like walking on a cloud. They've never leaked, even in heavy rain. I think most of the gel/flyte foam ones would be really soft and great for walking.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Will have a look to see if I can get any on sale.

I have black Stan Smiths and wore them today in the -2 freezing weather. Feet were fine.

geordiepidge · 25/11/2016 23:14

I also get cold feet in Converse. For winter I have some Vans hi tops which are furry inside and have a thicker sole, they're fab. Surely it won't be cold in Lisbon though? At least not as cold as here (you'd hope!)

sammy891 · 25/11/2016 23:35

Just ordered the black stan smith, hoping they are comfortable!

geordie you say that but I don't think I've ever been so cold as I was in Lisbon one April! It absolutely hammered down!

waitingforgodot · 26/11/2016 09:15

They are really comfortable Smile

mysteryfairy · 26/11/2016 09:48

Ugg or Ash do shearling lined trainers which would be warmer

Rustythedog · 26/11/2016 12:17

I like the sound of lambswood inserts. Where can you get them please?

cheapskatemum · 26/11/2016 15:33

You can get lambs wool inserts anywhere from Tescos to your local cobblers, but the quality is variable. Celtic & co do lovely ones, but be warned, they ain't cheap.

Rustythedog · 26/11/2016 15:42

I didn't know about them before reading it here. They sound like a great idea. I will check them out. Thank you.

sammy891 · 26/11/2016 17:58

Stan smiths arrived but not very comfortable for my feet, they are a bit loose around ankle area. Going to have a look at the inserts. I hope it isn't too cold but I am always freezing Blush
