If you had 3k to spend on yr face....

Just got a tax rebate which means I can properly invest in my youth, not something I can normally afford. What's the most cost effective way to spend money on fine lines and wrinkles which are particularly bad under my eyes?

I was thinking a long course of microneedling? And save half for a upper lower blephoplasty....or is fraxel the way to go?

Was raised on sugar, smoked for years, have tender Irish skin and have had loads of stress in the past few years....my face is a wreck.

What would you do?

Bingy, interested in hearing your treatment experience....is it laser? What's the rough cost? Am totally inexperienced in this

I'd spend it on a 3 month backpacking trip around Asia. There's nothing like a very long holiday for making you feel and look young. Spend £100 on Asian skincare products whilst there.

NameChanger22 · 27/11/2016 13:27

Or you could spend it on food, plumper faces have less wrinkles.

Bingybongybashy · 27/11/2016 15:14

Tenpastlate, ok, so, I'm a 45 year old, converse and jeans person, certainly not glamorous and was a bit worried about going to such a place but when I walked in there were all sorts of people having stuff done, from your TOWIE's to your 65 year old woman in an anorak types. So I felt fine and you should too, please don't let it put you off going. Dr Nyla and her team are all lovely lovely people. Secondly, Dr Nyla will advise you firstly what will work best for you, after you've told her what your looking to improve. As for upselling, it would only for things that would suit you and obvs, you say you've got a budget end of. I'm my experience it's never been for anything that I hadn't mentioned my dissatisfaction of anyway. I too cannot afford to have everything done as much as I'd like and so I've said I'd love to but can't afford. I will warn you though, it's addictive, but will just stick to Botox and fillers and a top up treatment if Elixis Elite. Well, until I've saved for the laser treatment!! Lol

Bingybongybashy · 27/11/2016 15:17

Seasonal - so the Elixis Elite is basically some ultrasound gel round your eyes, they then you a 'thing' which produced great and they move it over the gel round your eye area. Takes about 10 min each eye. It can get hot but it's not unbearable by any means. Bit red after but goes in about 20 mins. I had 4 with another one due now and effects last 2 years. doctornyla.com/treatments/exilis-elite/

Bingybongybashy · 27/11/2016 15:27

I noticed a difference after first treatment. I have quite hooded eyelids and this treatment actually improved that straight away by plumping the skin. I paid £250 per treatment. They will ask you if you have a budget so worth having an idea in mind (maybe give a lower figure than your real budget as you may get it at £200 a go! Would really really recommend. This followed by Botox was amazing for my lines!! I would really suggest you go to see her for a consultation. Wish I had a before picture to show you but here's the after ones, first without then with make up.

Arrghh my Schnoz looks massive! It's not! Grin

Bingybongybashy · 27/11/2016 15:31

*profuced heat not 'great' Hmm

JungleWait · 27/11/2016 15:45

Hi, sorry to hijack, but does anyone have any recommendations for doctors in London please?

SeasonalVag · 27/11/2016 16:30

Bingy, we have almost identical skin and eyes/ line formation :) so that's very helpful...Am googling. Is it permanent or will you be maintaining?

OP posts:
Bingybongybashy · 27/11/2016 16:44

The Elixis, after a top up will last two years, Botox need every 3 months. Will be maintaining. Cannot go back to how I was before which basically meant I had dark eye bags on dark eye bags, and like my eye were screwed up balls of paper! Really wish I had a before photo for you to see. It believe me when I say, I'm so much more confident in my looks now and don't look like ie had 3 hours kip a night!!! Let us know what you decide to do and how you get on!! X

Tenpastlate · 27/11/2016 20:22

Thanks Bingy, that's really good to know. I was worried it would be wall to wall with Abbey Clancy types Grin and Dr Nyla herself looks rather intimidatingly perfect!

Bingybongybashy · 27/11/2016 23:52

Tenpastlate, you've been on Dr Nylas website then 😂😂?! TBH I chose her for the fact she did celebrities, made me think she must be good! And she is. She is perfect but please don't feel intimated by her she is lovely!!!! You thinking if having something done? X x

swooosh · 28/11/2016 10:42

Polly no horror stories that I've heard of with regards to blepharoplasty and certainly not where I work anyway. There is the usual swelling and bruising that comes with surgery. We pop on little eye patches and give out cooling masks that you can change every hour or so. Also sleep upright. The surgery is the easy part but you have to comply with the aftercare instructions.

It really is a fab surgery. My eyes are a little hooded now (age 28) so it's something I would have in the future definitely.

swooosh · 28/11/2016 10:43

Jungle what do you want doing? I can give recommendations that way.

Serenite · 28/11/2016 19:39

Any recommendations around Leeds/West Yorkshire for similar type of thing or just Botox and filler. Had filler before but never really happy with the overall look - think it's sunken eye trough (?) that is causing the tiredness but scared to tackle those and the expense involved. Was thinking of the vampire facelift, anyone had good results on that. And sorry if this is jumping in!!

SeasonalVag · 28/11/2016 21:02

Have decided to give microneedling a bash. Apparently six sessions increases your skin thickness by 60% or so, this would definitely make a difference on thin eye skin

OP posts:
SeasonalVag · 28/11/2016 21:09

Serenute, apparently fillers work wonders on eye troughs!

OP posts:
Serenite · 29/11/2016 01:01

Scary stuff though to get it done, I know it'd take years off me but ..... Any other suggestions that might help in that area which is less invasive. Even the thought of laser or something like that seems less scary

SeasonalVag · 29/11/2016 08:23

Serenite....I've had fillers....bit more painful than botox but they changed the shape of my face very nicely...from a Kraft single to a dairylea triangle....a subtle difference. Plus it doesn't damage your skin, no heat etc. Had it done two years ago and no need to repeat yet....that said, I was still carrying baby weight at that point so some of the effect is that

OP posts:
SeasonalVag · 29/11/2016 08:25

Serenite us the vampire facelift not just dermarolling with added platelets etc?

OP posts:
SeasonalVag · 29/11/2016 08:26

Swoosh, what's the recovery time with upper eye blepharoplasty? How long before you can get away with going out without sunglasses?

OP posts:
Bingybongybashy · 29/11/2016 09:38

Seasonal - when you going for microneedling? Soon? Glad you've decided what to go ahead with! Exciting, love stuff like this!! Grin

Serenite - what you nervous off? Tear trough fillers?

X

Serenite · 29/11/2016 10:35

Yes the thought of tear trough fillers terrify me - mind you all fillers do, yet I don't have any fear of Botox - don't know why that is. I'd consider the prp with micro needling - I hear this can be used for under the eyes but I'm reading very mixed reviews on it.
Will look into Botox/fillers but would love to go for a consultation with someone who'd really give me their honest opinion as to what would be worth having. I've lost a lot of weight and their are some saggy issues (!)
I think the thing is, when any work is done well it is imperceptible and you just look refreshed but the slightest thing that goes wrong ruins your face and is so obvious.
Anyone recommend a practitioner around Leeds or the West Yorkshire Region please ?

Bingybongybashy · 29/11/2016 16:12

When I had my tear trough fillers, the doctor put anaesthetising cream on first, for ten mins, before doing the injections. It was so easy I promise. Wish I could recommmend you someone near you as Dr Nyla is a true professional in all aspects. Good luck with your hunt!
