Silver hair dye - home

After being blonde forever, a few weeks ago I had my hair dyed silver (semi permanent). It was darker at the roots and lighter towards the ends, kind of baylayage effect. it's really faded though and now just looks mousy brown with lighter, ashy blonde ends.

Would it be a complete disaster to try a silver at home dye? I was thinking of going to Sally's tomorrow and asking for advice, just to tide me over until my next hairdresser appointment in mid December. I really liked how the colour was toned and not just flat, would the fact that the ends are lighter already mean that it would be easy enough to dye without it looking just grey all over?

You'd need to rebleach your roots as well so that the silver 'sticks'... it's notoriously hard to do without getting lines instead of balayage and I have seen a lot of people with khaki coloured hair due to home experimentation..

I'd save your money in the long run and just go to the hairdresser
