Chanel no 5 Soap...

SilkThreads · 18/11/2016 10:23

I want to buy myself some Chanel no 5.
I cant afford it.

So, do I buy the soap which I can afford (does it have a good strong smell)

or, is there a 'knock off' frangrance that smells like it?

It HAS to be Cno5 smelling...

People recommend perfume parlour in here but I have some and don't think they have the strength and longevity of a real perfume. Milton Lloyd do a no. 5 dupe called vogue which has mixed reviews.

Both if these are really really cheap so you could try both

The soap does have a strong smell and is really rich (I think it's what people who know about stuff like this call a 'superfatted' soap).Go for that over the knock off perfume.

Can you afford the body lotion ? I've never found the soap or bath stuff to linger once out of the bath

OCSockOrphanage · 18/11/2016 15:48

Not keen on No5, but was given a soap once and it was lush. Nettle's review is spot on.

The shower gel is really nice.

Coty L'Amaint was the original copy perfume and smells so like Chanel 5

I got a lovely set of No5 stuff for my mum a few years ago and the body lotion and cream are lovely and really linger. The talc is good too. I love the smell on her but Chanel perfumes smell 'off' on me for some reason.

I use the body lotion. One bottle lasts me 6 months and the scent stays. I'm allergic to perfume so it's a good alternative.
