I have a difficult to explain leg covering dilemma. .

I have a pair of wide legged (parallel) trousers in black which I intend to wear with a black lace up trainer style shoe.
They are a good length but when I sit down a bit of leg is exposed.
Should I go bare and wear trainer socks or do I need to have some sort of sock (obviously not showing the top of the sock its not a huge gap) I'm stuck.
Hopefully some more stylish MNers might be able to help.

Black socks?

rightknockered · 12/11/2016 21:08

Wear bright socks, so it looks deliberate

donajimena · 12/11/2016 21:16

I wouldn't wear bright. I don't want to draw attention to ones limbs. Grin
Just more what is acceptable. Bare leg or stockinged foot.. Wink

Socks should NEVER be seen unless it's obviously intended eg knee-high. This will be law when I'm in charge!
So yes, trainer or invisible socks for me

BikeRunSki · 12/11/2016 21:20

black socks if it is cold
bare if it is not

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 12/11/2016 21:21

Noooo, get some nice socks that you can show off.

Most of mine have woodland creatures on them.

Drquin · 12/11/2016 21:23

Either plain black socks ..... or nothing / trainer socks. Can't visualise if one is better than the other.

Definitely not patterned / coloured socks ...... it'll spoil the look of trying to look smart (which it sounds like you are).

Thank you. It night sound like a strange concern but I'm going Northern Soul dancing and will be wearing a retro adidas tshirt with wide leg trews. I'm confident the outfit is quite cool but my ankle dilemma is giving me woe!

Well in that case neon pink or yellow socks should do the trick.

blibblibs · 12/11/2016 22:31

Definitely an insivible sock and bare ankle.

donajimena · 12/11/2016 22:35

Brights won't be happening but thank you! I should have prepared one of those monkey surveys...
Black knee highs or bare?

Fine knit black knee-highs. That way, no one will even notice. Bare leg will attract more attention than something the same colour as your trousers and shoes. Have a great time.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/11/2016 23:19

I always wear black socks. You can get silky trouser socks. They look fine.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/11/2016 23:33

trouser socks by Asda
They have a nice sheen so dont end up looking like bobbly old socks. They look simple and smart.

leccybill · 12/11/2016 23:41

I didn't know you could get trouser socks. That's me off to Asda tomorrow then!

donajimena · 13/11/2016 07:07

Fab. I'll order some of those thank you
