M&s beauty calendar

Ivytheterrible · 09/11/2016 13:17

So I want the fabled beauty calendar but I can't find anything to buy on the m&s website.

I need...
New ankle boots
A LBD
Dressy tops for evenings out.
But there is nothing I even want to try on!

I have 3 children aged 1-6 but can only find new socks for them.

What can I buy? Confused

Rudy - I think yesterday's on ring fingers and today's on the others would look pretty good. dd2 snaffled yesterdays but she is good at sharing GrinRudy - I think yesterday's on ring fingers and today's on the others would look pretty good. dd2 snaffled yesterdays but she is good at sharing

I thought yesterday's autograph one was pink and glittery and today's is a plum colour and matte.

Not the same at all. I'm loving it. More make up please!

My first thought was that it was weird to have the two nail polish on consecutive days. But then I thought that they could possibly be worn together as pp suggested. I like both colours.

VictoriaMcdade · 10/12/2016 14:12

I really like today's. I put it on this morning and it is looking rather splendid.

The marketing has done the trick. I will def be buying this brand again - best polish I've used in ages!

Trulymadlymotherly · 10/12/2016 15:52

Oh I hadn't thought of wearing them together. Much happier now Smile

MoonlightMedicine · 10/12/2016 16:31

Cointreau - I think you're using way too much acid peel. I may be wrong but I only use a tiny amount each time. Just a thin layer should do it. I'd say I use about a 5p piece sized blob.

BlueEyedWonder · 10/12/2016 18:16

Cointreau I was also a bit sizzly with the Rodial stuff. Still think it's one of the best products to date in the Calendar.
Alas the nail varnish colours do not appeal to me. Gave yesterday's to DD. Will give the other to my mum.

CointreauVersial · 10/12/2016 20:55

I think I was confused by the fact that it was called a "mask" - I thought that meant a thick layer, I guess.

It worked a treat, though! Skin was smooth and soft.

Mummamayhem · 10/12/2016 21:49

I'd painted my nails with the sparkly cranberry and was not keen so very happy to repaint with the darker matt cranberry one, much more me. Need 2 coats though.

Theonlyoneiknow · 10/12/2016 22:48

Just found this! I had bought 2, felt guilty at my Xmas splurging (WTF!!) so returned one. Sounds like I was a bit premature! I am actually using last year's beauty calender that I didn't use so was saving this year's one till January! Sounds great so far! Is acid peel ok to usensure if you have a few broken veins on your face? I've never used one before !

CaoNiMerrilyOnHigh · 11/12/2016 07:03

Emma Hardie cleansing balm! I like. I've always wanted to try it. Smells heavenly!

camelfinger · 11/12/2016 07:11

How do you use the cleansing balm? Haven't opened it but it smells lovely through the lid.

MoonlightMedicine · 11/12/2016 07:22

Normally with a cleansing balm you apply it with your fingers, fairly sparingly as they're usually rich, then remove with a warm, damp muslin. Can't wait to try this one, I've never heard of it. It does smell amazing.

camelfinger · 11/12/2016 07:49

Thanks Moonlight.

rocket74 · 11/12/2016 07:51

Oh no!! I got the nails inc cranberry in my number 10 box.
Despite intense interrogation my DD said the 9 box was empty so she put a lolly in it.
Maybe it was? It's hard to tell with her.

Grrrrr.

rocket74 · 11/12/2016 07:55

Oh doh. I'm so stupid at the moment - it's the 11th now isn't it? DD is off the hook.
I blame the drugs Wink(chemo brain)
This is my treat during a shitty time !!!

jinglytinglypasta · 11/12/2016 08:53

Oh, Rocket! What did you miss out on? Was it the first nail polish - the Autograph one? I'd be delighted to send you mine, and the Nails inc (both unopened). PM me x

latedecember1963 · 11/12/2016 09:42

Have just tried this morning's treat. It compares very favourably with the Elemis version. I'm going to put it away now and save it to take to our caravan as it won't take up too much room. Have done the same with the Ultrasun we got early on.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 11/12/2016 09:49

Ahh did you just repeat a day rocket? You should have had a Autograph polish in box 9, Nails Inc in 10 and a cleansing balm in 11! (And I hope the chemo is doing it's job and not making you feel too awful x)

Tried the cleansing balm this morning - instructions I looked up were to mix a little balm with a few drops of water, massage into face and remove with a fancy muslin cloth (I used a flannel!). Face feels soft and glowing!

I tried applying the Nails Inc polish then dabbing the Autograph polish on the tips with a make up sponge to create a two-tone effect. Frankly the colours are too similar for it to be noticeable (probably just as well as my handiwork is a bit messy!) but I like the colour it produces better than either colour on its own.

happychristmasbum · 11/12/2016 10:08

Rocket I had Autograph cranberry polish on day 9 and Nails Inc Piccadilly on day 10 . No half eaten chocolate lollies. DS16 used to work at M&S, says it's entirely possible someone put it in there "for the bants" Wink

If you think DD is telling the truth, and the brand of chocolate lolly isn't one you have had in your home then I would contact M&S about it. I hope you are feeling OK today Flowers

Not that impressed with the balm. It's the sort of thing I probably should be using, but I tend to just use a cleanser I can put on a bit of cotton wool and wipe my face with. This looks a bit faffy for me.

Maybe I could use it in the shower?

rocket74 · 11/12/2016 10:17

I think I got my days muddled is all. I've now got both nail polishes and the balm so I'm up to date. Fuddled brain.
The lolly is definitely the work of DD but she put it in an empty box.
Thanks for the kind offers x

CiderwithBuda · 11/12/2016 10:58

Happy with the cleansing balm. Have used it before and like it a lot.

It's really not that faffy happychristmasbum. I just rub it over my face, wring a clean face cloth or muslin out in warm water and wipe it off. Job done.

Rocket - love that your DD put a lolly in for you. Grin. But to know it was empty she must have opened it so the nail polish may turn up. Maybe she put it in a different box? Hope your chemo does its job and you aren't feeling too crap. Flowers

CherrySkull · 11/12/2016 11:06

hmm, i'm not much of a cleansing balm person, but i might try it.

Annoyed its got no directions on it though!

Needastrongone · 11/12/2016 11:49

I really like the balm, and have been wanted to try something like this.

My skin feels amazing at present, but I am not entirely sure which product is doing the job!

Lovely body balm from the Sanctuary one too, a nice day all round.
