Which shop is best for children's clothing?

I am considering asking for vouchers for children's clothes instead of toys for Christmas but I don't know what to ask for.

I'd like an actual shop so DC can choose their own clothes. I'd like good quality and choice but perhaps not as expensive as John Lewis.

I like H&M but their stuff can be a bit flimsy.

Any suggestions?

Zara has nice clothes and the quality for kids stuff is more decent than adults.

Ilovewillow · 07/11/2016 13:54

I agree Zara is nice and quite funky. Next is ok too!

LuchiMangsho · 07/11/2016 13:58

Zara. Monsoon. Boden (although not a store- although there is one in London).

Underparmummy · 07/11/2016 13:58

We use H and M, Next, Zara, M and S in our local high street (bit limited). We don't get on with Little Joules. That would be the extent of our local shop options so we go online a lot!

Underparmummy · 07/11/2016 13:59

In terms of online though La redoute is cute and always have crazy offers on. Mini Boden used to be a go to but not so much anymore.

My dc (9&10) would both be happy with Next. Plenty of styles to choose from and wide range of prices.

DubiousCredentials · 07/11/2016 14:01

Lol my dc are 8&9 not 9&10 Blush

Do you have a big shopping mall like an intu?? As it may be easier to get a shopping centre gift card to shop from a range of shops in the mall.

swimster01 · 07/11/2016 18:49

Boden mainly, some Zara and some M&S. Occasionally the odd thing from Tesco or Sainsburys

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/11/2016 18:53

How old are your DC?
We like:

  • John Lewis (sale is really good)
  • La Redoute but it is online
  • TK Maxx
  • Boots mini club
  • Jojo

River island I've found recently very good for boys. Especially older ones

kipkipkip · 07/11/2016 19:18

You can't beat Next for kids clothes imo. Mothercare stuff is lovely too.

cathaka15 · 07/11/2016 19:20

Next
Zara
Gap
M&S
Tk Maxx.

WellTidy · 07/11/2016 19:25

John Lewis own brand stuff is really nice and I don't find it hugely expensive. Next is a shop that kids I know seem to like shopping in (if they care about choosing their own clothes).

Are you near a big shopping centre where you can buy a shopping centre voucher that can be spent in any store? Bluewater do these, as do intu.

eatingtomuch · 07/11/2016 19:29

I like Debenhams, good for all ages.

Shopgirl1 · 07/11/2016 19:30

Next is my go to for kids clothing. I've picked up nice things in Debenhams, M&S, Zara, Gap too.

PickAChew · 07/11/2016 19:36

My boys (one is moving into man sizes, now!) Have had good stuff from Next (now iffy for tops, but still do great joggers and jeans), John Lewis, markses, fat face and landsend. Landsend do really lovely soft cotton that usually keeps its shape and doesn't pill, so anything that ds1 didn't trash got handed down to ds2 and then onto the charity shop, still in good condition.
