Ladies

I'm off to a Christmas black tie ball with the other half. Really not sure what to wear or wear to buy it!

For the record aged 41 (but look younger, honest!) don't like to show too much skin but want to look sexy (don't we all!)

Where do I start!!?

I was recently at an awards and found out just before that it was black tie! I wore a dress which came to just over my knees. I'm 38 but hopefully look younger too! My dress was from Jane Norman at HoF. I'll post a pic

Thank you PeachMelba - you look fab and definitely younger than your age!

Thanks Charlotte, have you found anything you like yet?

Black tie gives a lot of scope for a woman. You can go the whole long ballgown type affair, or short cocktail dress or even smart trousers.

As it's a Christmas do, you will probably find people are wearing colour rather than black, and their clothes may be on the sparklier end of the sparkle-spectrum.

Could you give us more clues as to your size and shape, and what you usually like to wear, and your approximate budget?
