Really light daily facial sunscreen

Apart from something to cover up my under eye shadows without clogging (suggestions welcome!) the hunt for the perfect daily sunscreen is my holy grail.

I have very fine, slightly dry skin with an oily T zone. I have tried all the standard facial sunscreens which are supposed to be light and non pore clogging - La Roche Posay, Ultrasun, Clinique etc. ALL of them give me spots and milia. Also, most of them, even if tinted, give that shiny film which I associate with titanium dioxide.

Doe anyone have any alternate suggestions? I'm thinking maybe a chemical sunscreen rather than a titanium based one, a gel or even a powder? I'm in my fifties though with fairly decent skin.

I'm on the hunt for a light one too as can't stand thick sunscreens. Was thinking of trying the Kiehls light one

I have a similar skin type to you (oily t zone, normal - dry elsewhere) and find these very good - light and a hgh spf - not too pricey either:

Kiehls ultra light

Biore watery essence is what you need. I saw it recommended online from various people recommending Korean brands. You can get it from Amazon, and it's not expensive. Lovely, almost gel-like, really light. I've tried Clinique and Ultra sun before but can't see me changing from this now.

Yep i second Biore watery essesence. Its super light and good value

tellyjots · 30/10/2016 07:23

I liked the skinceuticals one, although it's a tinted moisturiser which not everyone will like.

HeyMacWey · 30/10/2016 07:25

Definitely the biore.

mowglik · 30/10/2016 09:22

Agree Biore watery essence unless you have oily skin in which case Biore face milk is also just as good and also mattifying - same price

VintagePerfumista · 30/10/2016 11:52

Biore here too. Paid about £6 delivered from ebay.

Fab, because unlike most sunscreens you don't look like your face is about to swim the channel covered in lard!

Biore Watery Essence. I get milia from lots of things, including most eye creams and sometimes also mineral makeup, and am very acne prone. Biore is my gold standard and I'm on my fifth tube I think! These days I buy 2-packs from Amazon.

Lots of love suggestions there which were new to me, thank you!

Think I am going to trial them all in turn and then decide...

Anyone up for an under eye shadow concealer thread now?

Re under eye, my favorite method atm is color-correcting (canceling out the blue) with a too-yellow light foundation (Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum). I look a lot fresher and because BHMS is really lightweight stuff, it does not crease. My eye area is slightly crepey at 40+ and I avoid thicker coverup options (past faves that worked well when I was less crepey - Physician's Formula Twin Concealer, Revlon Colorstay concealer, Nars Creamy Concealer, Bobbi Brown concealer in Light Bisque).
