Soho Farmhouse - how smart?

Saturday morning brunch.

If I was tall and thin I'd go for skinny jeans, long brown boots and one of those furry gilet things. However, I'm 5 ft 1 and size 14/16.
Ideas/pics, please, oh wise ones.

Not smart at all. Countryside casual with a cool twist.
Wear a black top, jeans and flat boots. Casual coat or jacket.

Ok, got boots and jeans, just top to go! Have recently dropped 3 dress sizes and am so excited about fitting into clothes again!

Well done on the weight loss!

I'm sure you know this already but much more important, for fitting in, than your clothing is your confidence. So choose a top that you feel good in (but that you could also walk your dog in)! Also, to fit in, follow the written (don't take photos) and unwritten (don't gawp at anyone famous) rules.

Reading it back, I think I sounded a bit patronising. Apologies if so - didn't mean it that way!

I have fun every time we go there. Amazing food, beautiful surroundings, lots of fun, creative people. A few twats, but that can be said for anywhere. So have fun Smile

Not patronising at all. I am very good at London smart clothes and really excellent at country dog walking/beating clothes. It's just cool/trendy/with a twist/casual/just flung together that I struggle with.

I know exactly what you mean. The first time I went there I angsted for ages - my wardrobe contains very smart things for the day or two a week I work in London, when I'm often giving presentations or socialising afterwards, and working from home skinny stuff with little in between.

I ended up buying some new boots and a black cashmere sweater. Then got to the farmhouse and there was ankle high mud - I had to borrow wellies.

They've redone the paths since then so mud not a problem but it's still very casual. I was there for a birthday party recently and even then it was pretty casual - skinny jeans, sparkly tops and flats was the 'uniform'.

Working from home slobby stuff -not skinny.

Well, it was lovely, and I looked just right. No famous people, though - but some really lovely pigs.
