Stella from The Fall's amazing light/groomed make up. How do I recreate it?

She looks amazing doesn't she? But I'm guessing there is actually loads of hard work behind that natural well groomed look.

I love the subtle shimmery eyes in particular. Any suggestions for palettes/ shades/ tutorials for learning how to recreate it?

Shimmery eye shadows all seem to give me that frosted old lady look. Either that or they look like a glitter-fest that isn't really appropriate for my daytime look. What am I doing wrong as hers look amazing?

Well this should help with products. I can make out Chanel Vitaluminiere foundation, Lancome mascara, Clarins long name lip thingy, Dior eyeshadows, I'm not sure what the round Chanel product is, possibly loose powder or some sort of limited edition thing (highlighter maybe?), the chunky metal thing in the right hand corner might be a Guerlain lipstick but am not sure. Others may have better guesses.

I'd say look at Lisa Elridge on YouTube, and also look for Mary Greenwell tutorials on there (she doesn't have her own channel) who has done quite a few tutorials for very fair skin with similar colouring and looks.

Is the round Chanel Bronze Universal?

If I use it as a base under my foundation, my very pale skin looks naturally glowy and just that bit more pulled together. Wouldn't be without it.

botemp · 28/10/2016 07:31

It is, someone else with more time than me figured them all out here and managed to email the makeup artist to find out what specific Dior eyeshadow palette they were using.

I was coming on to say that the key is embracing the pale. No bronzer, tan, contouring and a pretty pink blusher.

botemp · 28/10/2016 07:38

There seems to be no blusher product in that bag but I'm guessing one of the lip products may be used as a soft cream blusher instead. The Chanel foundation may also be a bit more coverage than necessary for the sake of filming, I think something like Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser would be more suitable for this look in RL.

This 'OPAL GLOW' is great for light soft shimmer on the eyes. Much more flattering to middle aged skin than darks. Some big M&S beauty sections stock it.

OP:
How do you achieve it?
Answer: Botox.

MaQueen · 28/10/2016 17:17

I have tried Chanel Vitalumiere, but felt it was too shiny for me. I prefer Matt Lumiere, which is sheer but gives good coverage.

Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree · 28/10/2016 18:05

I was coming on to say pixi eye shadows are really good. The have a really low sheer kind of sheen, rather than full on shimmer. Looks good on slightly less young skin like mine. Might be a good slightly cheaper option.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/10/2016 18:16

Lots and lots of up lighting! My wedding pics are like her because someone was following me around with a big reflectorGrin

FrickOnAStick · 28/10/2016 18:45

I'm not a huge fan. I think it was nice to begin with, sort of muted, 'no make up, make up' but last episode's look jarred for me. Warm sheeny eyeshadow and cool, washed out metallic lips. Did nothing for her.

You need to find tones that suit your individual colouring. I like Burberry eyeshadows for smooth, satin finishes without chunky glitter. Dior eye palettes are good too. I do think you need to spend a bit for nice eyeshadow textures, especially if (like me) your eyelids are over 35.

burnishedsilver · 28/10/2016 18:48

Good lighting and lots of Botox.

mumofthemonsters808 · 28/10/2016 18:57

I think she looks amazing, I'm becoming a bit obsessed with her, I want her makeup, blouses, coats, loose curls, I have been trying to achieve that shade of blond on my hair for years, what colour would you describe it as ?

hollyisalovelyname · 28/10/2016 19:04

I have the Chanel bronzer glow stuff. I love it.
It gives a lovely glow but I didn't think Stella wore it in the last episode. It gives a light golden glow to fair skin.

Thank you thank you botemp!
