Jeans-help me hide my arse crack!!!!

Whenever I buy jeans, they seem ok to begin with, but after a wash or two, they loosen up around the waist and I literally cannot bend down without them falling down.

I'm 40, 5'7" and a size 14. I prefer skinny (ish) styles, because I'm in wellies a lot. Please can you recommend any styles etc?

Thank you (as does anyone who stands near me when I drop my keys!) Shock

Haha! Maybe you're not a size 14, I had this problem and went back to a size 10 instead of a 12. So maybe try a 12? Also I have a massssive bum so the only ones that fit me are the new look ones as they're super stretchy but don't fall down, good luck!!

SweetChickadee · 26/10/2016 16:22

Sorry if this is a daft question - but do you wear a belt?

If I don't I have the same issue. Belt solves it Grin

Heratnumber7 · 26/10/2016 16:25

Have you tried wearing a belt?

Cakescakescakes · 26/10/2016 16:26

I finding you need to buy them uncomfortably tight to begin with so that when they stretch they are actually an ok size. I'm a 12 but with skinny jeans/jeggings I try to buy a 10 and wear round the house for a while then when they bag out they are perfect! If I buy a 12 they gape at the waist after one wear.

Cakescakescakes · 26/10/2016 16:27

I find

skyyequake · 26/10/2016 16:30

I'm placemarking as have the same problem!! I've tried going down a size but physically can't do them up Blush and a belt doesn't help me...

SweetChickadee · 26/10/2016 16:35

ok if a belt doesn't work get jeans with a higher rise - basically a longer zip. Maybe you're too long in the body for low rise jeans

skyyequake · 26/10/2016 16:36

I have "super high-waisted" and the same thing happens

Florathefern · 26/10/2016 16:56

I had this problem until I changed the style and now only buy high waisted jeans.

Heratnumber7 · 26/10/2016 17:48

Ok then. Braces? Grin

mellongoose · 26/10/2016 21:20

Looks like braces are the only answer!!!! Have tried a belt. If I go a size down I can't do them up and they are really uncomfortable. My bum is big. Is it a body shape thing?!

I am heavy of thigh and bum and find that many styles are "dragged down" at the waist by these bits. Since having DS I swear by Topshop Joni's. I know, I know, I was surprised too.

TheHighPriestessOfTinsel · 26/10/2016 21:24

yy to buying the smallest pair you can physically get on. Then break them in a few times at home, to lose the overstuffed sausage look.

I'm very pear-shaped, and have primark super-high waist skinnies, a pair from Jaeger, and a pair from the GAP.

dudsville · 26/10/2016 21:29

I'm the same size and height as you op. what shape are you? I have a waist worth rounded butt and thighs combing in again at the knee. I Find a lot of skinnies seem to lose hold of my waist and pull down my thighs. I like nydj's for being able to stay put.

mellongoose · 26/10/2016 22:14

I have a kind of waist albeit squishy since having dd. Are high waist jeans ok these days? Am out of touch!!! Misses living in a city!

Lymmmummy · 26/10/2016 23:27

I have this problem and thought it was just me - I am not a fan of belts which is the obvious solution and not made in high waisted jeans as I find them uncomfortable

I am apple shaped and am not sure if it's my shape of being quite thin waisted but bigger in the tummy that causes it

I generally wear longer tops😁

skyyequake · 26/10/2016 23:30

It depends if you're high-waisted/long-bodied, if you're not then high-waisted jeans should help and are in fashion... If you're like me and long-bodied then they only slightly lessen the problem, but don't fix it entirely!

Cakescakescakes · 27/10/2016 08:14

These are the absolute best ever jeans I've found for my pear shape. No gaping at the waist at all! Lovely indigo colour and good high waist. Keep their shape really well. I may have bought 3 pairs....

Didn't see your post in time, Cakes, so have gone for some high waisters I've found on ASOS. Will keep the M7S ones in mind, though, as they are probably better quality and will last longer.

Let's see if the Simon Cowell look does the trick!
