I love S&B threads but am quite poor so enjoy seeing all the lovely things Smile.

I had to attend a benefits appointment this morning so showered, did hair and put some make up on but while I was walking to the bus stop realised I was walking with my head down and shoulders slumped. Felt a bit shite tbh.

Had appointment and walking back to the bus stop even more miserable. Walked past a hairdressers doing a cut for £11 and thought "Want". A bit of mental arithmetic and in I went and also had my eye brows threaded.Smile

I feel grand! Lovely feeling and I may just do I my nails now Shock.

When I take DDog for her walk tomorrow,, I will have a spring in my step and will flick my hair Grin.

That's great! Well done for prioritising you.

Judydreamsofhorses · 24/10/2016 21:38

I love that feeling, OP. I nipped in for a (free) fringe trim last week and felt transformed. Amazing the difference a smallish thing can make to your mood!

MollyRedskirts · 24/10/2016 21:41

I totally get that. I think it becomes even more important to find a bit of spare cash for looking after yourself when you're on a low income, even if it can't be a regular thing. Eyebrow threading for £5 was mine when I was on ESA.

LadyTrevelyan · 24/10/2016 21:59

Flowers such a boost Flowers

Sounds lovely! Does you the world if good. If you're on Facebook there's a group called Mrs Gloss & Goss and it's lovely. No bitchiness and they'll have great ideas for inexpensive ways to feel good. Might be worth looking at :-)

LittleOyster · 25/10/2016 11:51

Fantastic. So glad you treated yourself, OP. Good haircut + groomed brows = transformative, IMO.

Knitella · 25/10/2016 12:12

Happy swishing!
