Do you use lighted mirrors at home?

There have been several times when I thought I did a good job in applying makeup only to notice that I missed some spots on my face for the foundation or uneven eye shadow application. Being conscious of this possible horrors, I usually go straight to a powder room to double check my makeup. Then I asked myself, what's it with the mirrors on powder rooms and my house mirror. Finally, I realized it is lighting. So, I am thinking of buying something like one of these or have someone install a DIY like one of these. Well, the latter may be a bit of stretch but I think it would still be cheaper as my husband has lots of material for this in his workshop. However, I am not sure on how effective the first option is. What is your take?
